Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

As it says on the tin I would like a good reliable Dvd burning program.
Which will burn home movies etc. and make it so they will play on my parents dvd player.
I would also prefer not to pay for it as funds are tight these days.

Ps. Not too sure if this is the right place for it so mods please move it if its in the wrong place.:D

I use nero and i find it really easy to use and every dvd i burn works on just about all dvd players.the only downside i feel is that i only have a laptop with not alot of memory and nero uses up around 2 gb of my memory and when you are burning a dvd it tends to slow your laptop up a good bit,so you are best to burn a dvd when not using your computer.
if you have htorrent i will try and find a link where you can get it for free if you want. good luck mate

If by what you're looking for is converting .mp4 or .avi (and other) files to dvd. I suggest looking here http://lifehacker.com/5058888/five-best-media-converters

When you convert the files you should end up with a VIDEO_TS folder and a AUDIO_TS folder. You can then use any burning application to burn these to the root of the disk and it'll play in a dvd player no bother. I'd also go with ImgBurn with that.

To be honest with you I think Nero is cr*p, slow and full of unnecessary bloat. Personally I use ConvertXtoDVD (link below) which will convert almost any video file ready to be burned to DVD player compatible format (I've been using it ages and have never came across a copy that would not play in any player of my own or family/friends)

As for burning software I think you can't find better than ImgBurn - a nifty little program that's free. It does everything you prob need such as burning mp3s to stereo compatible CDs, burns/copies ISO images etc.

With a little bit of savvy you'll be able to get yourself a 'ahem' free copy of ConvertXtoDVD, but we can't talk about that here I'm sure....

Anyways, screw Nero - why buy a calligraphy pen for a job that can be done with a pencil!! ;)
