    Hi all,

Just wonder ing wht ur thoughts were on a 2 * radeon 4850 crossfire versus a single 5770...

i could pick up another 4850 handy enuf and also a 5770 could be had for not too much more,

i plan to run them on a gigabyte p55 ud4 board and i5 750 cpu, antec TP 650w psu and 2*2gb patriot 10666 ram

Multi GPU has always given me nothing but trouble. Driver issues, microstuttering, heating issues. I'm never going to multi gpu again. That is all.

I'm the same, I've a 4870x2 and am considering going back to a single gpu solution. Crossfire isn't worth it when only some games see a benefit

The 5770 is around the speed of a 4870.... not a huge jump over a single 4850 so not really worth upgrading to.

Crossfire/SLI is a waste in general and your game has to support it otherwise the extra card is sitting there doing nothing but making noise, sucking down power and generating heat. It would be faster than a 5770 on it's own probably.

The only card you would see a substanial increase in performance over the 4850 would be a 5850 @ over €300.....

If you can pick up a 4850 cheap then knock yourself out and have a play with crossfire.
