Problem with opening everything on my laptop

I bought a new game for my laptop (Football Manager 2010) and it wouldn't open so I right clicked on it and said open with the football manager programme. Now anytime I try to open anything it tries to open it with the football manager software and I can't change it back. All the desk top icons on my laptop have the same football manager symbol and nothing works.

Can anyone help me? It's really frustrating!!:mad:

Start >> Default Programs >> Associate a File Type or Protocol with a Program and take off the program association on the EXE file type (its probably set to FM2010 at the moment).

I tried your advice and unfortunately all the programs seem to be set to open up with the right programs. I tried to print screen and paste it here to show you but it wouldn't let me.

If you've any other ideas they'd be greatly appreciated?

if you unistall football manager and if you still want to play it re install it but do custom settings

In right-side pane, change value of Default key to exefile
Now goto:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\exefile\shell\open\command

In right-side pane, change value of Default key to:

"%1" %*
