Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Turn up a few minutes before the scheduled start.

€5 for bike hire - most of them have Look Delta pedals, but they do have some others, and also clips. You are better with the cleats if you have them. They will sort out a bike for you. Are you used to riding fixie? (this is half the battle at teh stert)

If you've not spent time on a track you will be given some basic safety instructions and given some time on the track. They'll take you through basic manouevers. There will be others training on the track, and if you show sufficient progress you may get chance to ride with them by the end

Over the 2 hour session I would guess you could spend an hour or so on the track, but it won't be high intensity stuff unless you get a chance to do some pacier work towards the end

I only ride fixed at the moment so Im comfortable with it, I try not to use my front brake, only when Im knackered or someone walks out in front of me. I just havent been on a velodrome or in any kind of cycling track/circuit, I only do it by myself for fun/fitness. did an easy 70km a month ago thru wicklow and kildare and going for 100+ km soon(when I have a 100% reliable bike!) so my fitness is relatively high, I prefer sprints tho

I have basic metal mks pedals, have never used cleats or straps, Ive had a foot slip off now and again but I can get it back on quick enough, not sure how the pedal thing will work tomorrow

Check out this thread for more information

You need your feet to be securely fixed to the pedal - there's no sudden stopping or pulling your feet off the pedals on the track (otherwise you could be bringing a whole bunch of bikes down with you!). The straps they have will be fine, but they need to be secure.

Fitness-wise you will have no problem
