Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I'm posting this on behalf of mrmac...

    Assignment 38 - Transportation

This is as wide a theme as possible, as anything to do with Transportation, is acceptable.

e.g. Airport, airplane, vapour trails, bus station, bus, railway, trains, hot air balloon, bicycle, car, light trails, horse, elephant, hiking boots, canoe, wet suit, petrol, exhaust emissions, postage stamp, feather, skateboard, windsurfing, etc.

So you see, absolutely any item, related to the transportation, of any type of item, is a suitable subject. Something for everyone??

While it's not possible to vote for an image more than once, extra Kudos will be heaped upon those who manage to post the only image of a certain type of transportation, i.e. the only shot of a UFO! biggrin.gif

I don't think I need to post examples for this???

    The usual rules apply:

*Photos must be in by 2 weeks of given task - closing date midnight Sunday 20th of June.
*No old photos. Only photos taken with this task in mind qualify - sorry. Therefore, dated 7th of June onwards.
*Photos must be on the given task.
*ONE photo per post. Post as many as you like.
*C&C to be encouraged - but be nice about it.
*Stretch yourself - no limitation to what you can do to produce the image.
*Next task/subject to be chosen by person who has the most thanks after their post (must include a picture in the post ).

I'm away on holidays atm, so I've asked Smashey to post this for me, "IF" I managed to win the last assignment. I'm delighted you enjoyed my entry, and I'm very much looking forward to seeing your entries for this one.

    Regards, mrmac.

Again I'm pretty much in awe (still picking jaw up from floor after Humberklog's entry), but I do have 2 picks I like which fit the brief I think.

This is a shot of tonight’s 22.10pm service from Maynooth to Pearse.

    9gyluo.jpg
Oops – only thing is that it doesn’t travel on a Sunday:cool::D

A little bit embarrassing:mad: – but let’s look at the positives.:)

There is a lovely station tarmac car-park to the left- where you can get parking for 2 euros a day – or if you want a full week – you can get it for 8 euros. Amazing value. :D

And Cars are great for transport.:)

On the right is the Royal Canal – one of the great transport systems in Ireland on the 19th century(he’s clutching at straws now)

And then there is the true beauty of the railway tracks themselves.

See how the rails stay the same distance apart all the way round the curve –amazing.:):)

    CUT:pac:

Ahhh... rails. They're the missing part of the puzzle. What would a train be without its rails ? It'd be like... a ... ahhmm ... a jam jar, without its lid ? Like a cart without the horse ? Like a bird without feathers !
You got me all emotional there Keps, powerful image. And deep, so deep. :D

I tell you this(and keep it to yourself)-I cried when I fully realised the true and deep-seated emotional and sociological content of the shot.
    A life changing experience:p

No idea - I went in at 11ish on Saturday morming.

I dressed like a tourist - backpack, summer type clothes and looked a bit stupid(which is no problem for me)- I was there for a good 10 minutes and took 40/50 shots from different places.

there were no security guards anywhere to be seen - maybe I was just lucky?

I did a good bit of Photoshop on the photo to to remove the platform numbers- which I thought were intrusive - but I never have a clue whether I am doing the right thing or not.

Someone has gone to get some glue.

In the meantime talk among yourselves...

It seems the photo was was taken 3 years ago - so it does not seem to be an appropriate entry.
