Some anti-war protesters have been camped on Parliament Square in London for the last few months, and Boris Johnson is going through the courts to get them evicted. Today, there was a sit-down protest in the street and in front of the gates at Downing street.

this was taken using a multi flash (stroboscopic) feature on a canon 580 - first time experimenting with it but took a lot of attempts to get a bat in reasonable focus.

the glow on the horizon is a nearby town - it was a 5 sec exposure to light the lake etc but the bat was lit with speedlight for a fraction of that exposure - the flash was on camera but directed to where the bat might be - the light wasnt shaped in anyway to light bat but lit whatever was in the sky- had to crop out trees etc - hit or miss really as they only come our for 25 mins after dark. i set the camera to focus about 4 metres away but lots of trial and error.
