Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Pix.ie query

    Hey folks,

As a newcomer to photography and pix.ie i've noticed a slight problem with my uploads and am wondering is it a problem with pix.ie or something i'm doing wrong which i can fix. Basically when i upload a picture in pix it looks a little overexposed or flatter than the picture i saved in PS.

I thought that maybe it was something i was doing wrong but i uploaded two of the same picture, one in pix and the other in photobucket to see if there was a difference and there was. The one i uploaded to photobucket is exactly how i have saved it in PS, so i'm assuming it's a pix.ie problem. Here's the photo in question.*

*the one in pix is cropped a little but that should be the only difference between both.

Can't say I've noticed this before. I've never directly compared pics I've uploaded to say, Flickr + Pix. but it certainly looks in your case that your upload to pix lost a little vibrance.

Btw, there's a dust spot in the sky in your image ;)

Its down to the colour profile your pic is saved with. Some sites don't use the embedded colour profile of your pic when you upload. And on top of that Safari, Firefox and windows explored handle these profile different to (AFAIK)
Best was is to save your pic as a sRGB colour profile and you will get consistence when you upload

....Unless somebody else can point you in a better direction

There is a radical difference in size between the file on pix.ie and IMG_1808i.jpg

    9.2MB vs 332kB

However, they both look very similar when I view them at the same size.

pixie's algorithm for handling photos is specific or proprietary and require you to save photos in an srgb colour space, (i think)... basically yes it happens on pix.ie... im near 100% sure its to do with the color space, ask marcus over here, he answers promptly. :)
