    Thinking of fishing off a beach in Wicklow or Wexford this weekend. Is now a good time of year for it? What could i expect to catch?

    Closed season for bass.
    Otherwise, dogfish, codling on rough ground, smooth hound, flatties ...

    When you say closed season for bass, is there some specific precaution i have to take to avoid catching them? for instance is it still ok to cast out some rag worms or mackeral on a paternoster?
