What's the story about the cordoned off house on the Ross road?

Don't know but I actually emailed on Friday about it to the council and our local councillors - have to pass it every day and cross the road over it too. Major eyesore. Few empty houses along the Ross Rd which look brutal.

Is there something in the castle about the Normans? Saw people dressed up.

There is indeed, re-enactors are at play.

No trains from Dublin today. Signalling fault or something.

Great crowds around the town this weekend and a good vibe about the place.

They dodged the rain too as the skies opened both nights just as things were winding up.

Some talk that the lads running Toss Kavanagh's are to take over Popovici's.
Also talks that Benedict's is to close and be converted to a function room with Anton moving the nite club to the old Legends spot across the road.

Heard about the 2 lads and The Tavern. Old Legends? The Club/Movita's?

Someone's been making a determined effort to kick in the bridge wall I reackon, or the traffic has shifted it.
Either way it hasn't too much further to go before it's in the river.

    MAJOR JOB BOOST FOR ENNISCORTHY...

Opus Fund Services to expand its Irish operations with new offices in ENNISCORTHY creating 100 jobs.

Opus Fund Services Ltd., an independent, privately-owned fund services company headquartered in Bermuda, announced today it plans to open a second office in Ireland, locating in Enniscorthy, with the creation of 100 jobs over five years. The project is supported by the Irish Government through IDA Ireland.

Founded in 2006, Opus Fund Services announced the official launch of its European fund administration business in Dublin in June 2017. It followed a comprehensive application process resulting in authorisation by the Central Bank of Ireland under the Investment Intermediaries Act.

The company specialises in providing asset valuations, anti-money laundering services and financial reporting to the alternative investments industry. Opus’ proprietary based technology offering continues to gain rapid traction. To date it has focused on the US market, adding 183 new funds across 133 new clients in 2018 alone.

Opus has now selected Enniscorthy as its second location in which to grow and optimise its Irish operation. The company is locating in offices in Enniscorthy’s historic former court building.

Wexford native Mark Atkinson, Chief Operating Officer with Opus in Dublin, will manage the new Enniscorthy office.

The new roles will be for experienced financial service professionals and qualified accountants.

Are they relocating to somewhere else? Hardly get a hundred into the courthouse, never mind the parking.

Just as well that Atkinson chap was there because the IDA don't know where Wexford is.

Good to see the building being put to use and a much needed boost for the town. So many around qualified in that field have to work in Wexford, Dublin or Kilkenny.

Real boost to the local economy and to the town centre. Parking could be an issue though! Lots of finance roles in Wexford town. Will help keep graduates local, long term effect of good jobs in the town is huge...will attract other businesses and boost existing ones too. O'Briens coffee shop in for a boost for sure.

FA and AML roles are in huge demand, AML in particluar.

Today's People newspaper seems to suggest that the courthouse option is a temporary measure and that they will be moving to a permanent home in the new Business Park out by St. Senans?

Sorry I don't have the paper to hand to quote exactly what was said.

    D.

There you gp. Particuarly good for retail and service businesses in town centre in the short term, hopefully creating footfall and more employment,

McCoy's lived in Lr Church street I wonder is she related? One of the McCoy's emigrated to Alberta where his wife was tragically murdered while closing up her shop.

    blur_edges.jpg

Yet another barber's shop has opened on Court Street and while it's good to see a new business we must surely have reached saturation point on the hair cutting front?

The second photograph would make one despair - how away is the bin from the seat?
