    Thought so

If I had a Euro for every time that I see puzzled visitors trying to access Enniscorthy Castle at weekends (it opens at 12 Noon) I'd be a rich man - what genius decided on the crazy opening hours?

On a more positive note work seems to be continuing inside St.Mary's Church Institute and also some work appears to be going on in the Athenaeum. Parties from both sides of the dispute there have been noted going in and out of the building recently. It would be nice to hear the latest regarding the battle for control over the restoration project.

Not sure really, the Church of Ireland had big plans for redeveloping it for their own use but I suspect that the money isn't available.

Nice to see the eyesore that was the old Treacy's Furniture Store get a lick of paint,it may be empty but at least now it doesn't look as bad.

Some paint work done at the bottom of Templeshannon (not far from Rafter Bridge), across the road from Farrell's pharmacy where Martin Doyle's butchers once was many moons ago.

Problem is... it just cries out 'I'm am kip with new paint, but a kip nonetheless' :( It just sticks out like a sore thumb.

There's an echo in here :)

Ah it looks a million times better in fairness.

Heading to work this morning at cira 7:10am (via Rafter Bridge) and there was an artic jack-knifed out by the Scarawalsh roundabout.

Pretty nasty one too... hopefully it has been sorted by now as it had the potential to cause a few headaches. About 3/4 of the road was blocked.

That's probably the sound of you talking into an empty beer can (of the cheap variety).

If you need a refill, taking Rafter Bridge as a starting point, the nearest off-license is probably Supervalu.

Depends on which side of the bridge your on, it could be the White house ;)

Christmas has come early this year

Not sure what GPS system you're using, maybe it's drunk too, but irrespective of what side of Rafter Bridge you're on Supervalu is closer.

You should have said the "New Bridge" ;)

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,017 ✭✭✭jpb1974

You should have said the "New Bridge" wink.gif

    Is New Bridge in Kildare?

By the sounds of it, based on your GPS, it could well be.

Rafter Bridge,The New Bridge, doesn't matter as 90% of people in the town don't know it's called Rafter Bridge.

Day 5 and counting since I noticed this. One hundred yards from the council offices but they will leave it like this until the village idiots smash the paving flag some night.

Aesthetics over function. It was designed so the water could flow over it.Kind of defeats the purpose of a bridge.

    euro%2Bshop%2B002.JPG

And another one bites the dust! Apparently the €UR Price chain of discount shops has closed down. The sign on the door today says closed for stocktaking but according to word on the street, the staff have been told their jobs are gone. Sorry to see this particular shop close as the girls who were worked there were amongst the most pleasant to deal with in the town. :(

That's very sad.. my young lad was very fond of popping in there for a wad of goodies with his €2.

And yes, the girls that worked there were ever so nice.
