Made a call without any sim??

I was playing with an LG Cookie yesterday with a broken screen, the sim card was removed, pressing a few buttons I suddenly heard a voice on the other end of the phone, had a slight conversation before the call dropped, there was 100% no sim in the phone. How did that happen? I had 2 witnesses who were also amazed...never…

could have been emergency services

It was a foreigner I got through 2, he sounded as confused as me. That's the only thing I can think of though is emergency services.

i'm gonna go with emergency services too unless your voip on your phone somehow kicked in over wifi or some other shenanigans!
