Oh, I did this too, except it was my last name and I used a fake first name. They'd hardly report this would they? I mean you had to use a name of some kind and how would they know whether or not it was fake?
they don't know what your name is... could be fake or not they'll never know your just an exam number to them. not writing your name means identfying yourself in a note to them type thing

Notes make no difference to me other than thinking how silly a student is to waste time writing them. I report anything personal or bribery straight away. Then it's up to the examiner over me to do what he likes.
    Humorless prick.

My maths teacher said someone wrote a note on the exam once saying how stupid a question was and how they should check them before giving students such ridiculous questions.

I wrote a note in the mocks saying a ran out of time and they gave me back a note talking about time management :).

Harmless notes about the exam are fine I suppose, nothing personal. Like someone who said "Have a nice summer".

I wrote a note yesterday in English saying "I'm going to answer poetry now and will do the comparative questions after that" just to avoid confusion :P

In Maths I always write little notes next to what I'm doing, to clarify. If I screw a question up and make a second attempt later on, I also stick a note pointing this out, so they know there is another attempt. Basically trying to make the examiner's life as easy as possible, and not get confused about my answers.

Other then that, I don't make notes at all. I'm far too paranoid about that kind of thing.

The only thing i've written is
    > Q8 next page because I skipped pages and just didn't want them to skip it. I'd say they ignore messages or notes that students leave unless it is either offensive or unethical (a bribe).

    :p

Haha that's hilarious. But if it only says cash/cheque, does that mean postal orders and/or credit cards are acceptable?

    That's harsh and un needed.

I left a note in English two...Like near the end of my King Lear Q *Sorry i ran out of time, it was a big rush!* :P

I left a note in Maths Paper 1. On Q8 (c), I did part (ii) before part (i) and I wrote a long note explaining this just so the examiner wasn't confused.

    say you wrote
" i studied boland " or " sorry for my terrible spelling and writing lol"

    ??

    Why would you do that?
It will make no difference to your score. They might laugh, but I dont think you will get cancelled..

    Pretty much, in my experience.

Certainly, "I ran out of time! :(" or "the second half of this is at the back of the book" aren't a problem.

I feel so left out as I don't leave notes. I'm going to write a list in my Maths paper of all the things I plan to do in the summer*

    *Not really!

Me too, in all other tests I always do a smiley and write thank you at the end but I was too afraid in these...just in case, it'd be just my luck for them to decide my script is the straw that broke the camel's back

Hmm... I wrote a few in maths yesterday... it was going really horribly so I tried get some humour from the situation. I wrote "Oh dear." after a few questions.. Also at the end of all my papers I wrote thanks for correcting. Just because it seemed polite.

Oh dear at the end of a question isn't gonna help! at the end of the day, YOU ARE A NUMBER to the examiners!

Wrote 'this is ridiculous..' at the end of a question C in ordinary maths in a fit of frustration.

Yea I couldn't make the c part of complex numbers work so i just wrote a note saying what was supposed to happen.. I know it wouldn't make a difference, but it makes me stop thinking about the question when i'm trying to do something else.

If you didn't recognize it its not your fault, I vaguely remember my teacher going through it in 5th year but as far as i can remember its not in the past papers, nor was it in my text book. I was kicking myself, I really didn't expect it!
