    Do they drool much ?

How much of a walk per day do they need ?

    Food ?

    Health issues ?

How do they get on with other dogs ?

    Prices ?

    Thanks.

They are English bulldogs not british bulldogs.

They can cost anywhere from 1000-2500 for a pup so not cheap.

Afaik they dont require a huge amount of exercise each day. They are know to have breathing problems and also problems if you breed them as the bitch usually needs a c-section or a lot of help with the birth.

Dont think they drool a lot.

All dogs get on with others once socialised and trained properly from a young age.

1000 would be very cheap 1500 is the least i have seen them for , given the amount of med probs they have i am surprisend they can still sell them for so much

Yeah its crazy money for a dog, same with the French Bull dogs, i would absol love one but you are talking about 2000-2500, mad money.

After trawling through Donedeal (my god the amount of scams on it!!) Got talking to 2 people on the phone, nice lady said she would let her female dog go as a pet for €1700 think she said the dog was about 2yrs old. Another lad said he had a male dog 800€ about 2.5yrs old. Pups cost an arm n leg, was told I'd be better off to go to the UK.

Maybe northern ireland would be cheaper. I know for pedigree cats is much much cheaper in NI.

I've never owned one but I have a friend wtih two so I'll give you some second hand info:

Do they drool much ? Not much, my Rottie would be a bigger drooler!

How much of a walk per day do they need ? 2 short walks rather than one long one as they can get out of breath easily and walking on hot days is a no no as they over heat really quickly

Food ? The are dogs who love their grub but their diet should be strictly watched and they should be kept lean, the heavier they are the harder it is for them to breathe and increases the changes of hip and elbow damage

Health issues ? Hip / Elbow dysplasia, eye / heart problems, breathing problems, sometimes palate problemsand irritation between the folds of skin.

How do they get on with other dogs ? The can show same sex agression but as with any dog good socialisation at an early age can solve this

Prices ? Anything from €1500 - €3000 depending on whether you're interested in showing or just looking for a pet quality animal

Bulldogs are one of those breeds where I would absolutely insist on health checks ie. heart, eyes, hips and elbows on both parent and a contract relating to anything happening to the dog in the first year, after all you'll be pay alot of money for a dog well known for its health problems so you'll want some back up should anything go wrong. Best of luck.

    Hello,
Thanks for your mail and fast response to my email.I am very happy you want to give this my puppy a loving and caring home for a lifetime.

Like I was saying that I want to give this puppy out for adoption because I am disabled at the moment so I cannot take proper care of the puppy as I was involved in a car accident that greatly affected m,y legs and I am hospitalized at the moment.

I will be very grateful if you can come up to my location for the pick up of the puppy here as am in a hospital here in Glasgow,Scotland.

So if you can come up to Scotland I will like you to inform me through email but if otherwise you cannot make it then I can still have the puppy delivered to you at your doorstep if you can email to me your full delivery contact details like
    -Your full names
    -House address
    -City and postal code
    -Contact telephone numbers
    -Nearest airport to my location"

Think she is being fostered ATM with a list of prospective adopters mate. You should apply to take her too.

She looks like a beaut. Love the line 'gets excited when she sees her lead' - I'd say thats a good laugh..

On that page 'Sorted' means she has gone into foster care. She will remain in foster care until an applicants home visit has been approved.

Bull breeds are by nature dogs which will require experience and good dog knowledge. They can be stubborn and require a little extra patience in the training side of things. Despite the fact that they are low to the ground they are very very powerful and strong.

Defo a breed that must be fully researched and honestly considered before deciding to get one.

Find out as much as you can before making your decision, visit dogs shows and talk to bull dog owners. The more you know about them the better. Drooling will be least of your worries if you rush into this decision and decide on a particular breed because they look cute! Also research the medical side of things. Getting quotes from pet insurance companies on the breed will give an indication of how high risk medically they are. Also think about things like life expectancy. English bulldogs have an expectancy of 8 years. Not the longest! Of course many live longer but thats the breed standard.

Insurance will be so important with this breed. Rescue is a brilliant way to go and dogs in distress offer great support system after you have adopted from them. Good luck with the search! They are a fab breed. . not for everyone but amazing with the right person!

EGAR have an American Bulldog for adoption, currently in foster care. Met him once...very sweet dog. His name is Morgan, have a look on www.egar.org if you would consider American Bulldog.
