Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Jaysus Heskey is a terrible finisher, i know he's not there to score but still

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,326 ✭✭✭✭ctrl-alt-delete

    Terrible from Heskey,

If it wasn't clear that he is not there to score goals, it is now.

He held onto it fairly well, I suppose. Nothing else special about it though.

    Seriously put crouch on.

I think it was a good save by Howard not really bad play from heskey

Howard did extremely well to hold it alright...

All he had to do was hold onto it, by Greens standards yeah it was a great save,

But the shot was straight at him, it was very poor from Heskey under no pressure at all.

Didn't believe Heskey would score. Might be time to stick Defoe on.

Rooney is hardly in the match at all

Rooney has been poor in this second half.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,084 ✭✭✭✭Kirby

England just aren't keeping the ball.......at all. even a little bit. They won't win much playing like this.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 54,682 ✭✭✭✭Headshot

id take Rooney off and bring on Defoe

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,692 ✭✭✭✭OPENROAD

Is there anyone who can see England winning the WC on the basis of this performance?

Not dissing the Yanks but England are not playing with any cohesion whatsoever

Fair bit of power behind it, he maybe could have let it go a little better, but Howard was well positioned and came out well

Rooney just dropped the ball too. trying to spin it in his arm.

Crouch for Heskey instead please, you can't really take Rooney off, regardless of how quiet he has been thus far.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,853 ✭✭✭ragg

Carragher FFS, what an absolute shocking tackle! Crazy bringing him on

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,213 ✭✭✭✭therecklessone

Wasn't that tackle similar to the one that resulted in a red last night?

Didn't think they would win anyway, but its only the first game, look at past world cups, who would have thought England would have got so far in 1990 after Ireland game.

You can't make a judgement after one game imo

It's more a case of confirming what I thought anyway but I'm just curious as to whether there is anyone who thinks England have any sort of chance and if so why?

Is Dawson on the bench? If so, for what possible reason could there to be to put on Carragher?
