Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Game needs Walcott.

Already has SWP for the role.

Capello got that one wrong - should have been Cole - be shocked if he doesn't start the next day.

I'm not sure if Rooney is the key to England winng this game, or if he's having a shocker

Delivery and general passing has been woeful really to him. Lennon for me is the only one having a decent game.

Carragher is a huge liability at the back.

England have a lot of very average players in their team and the one truely world class one in Rooney isn't being utilised properly.

    No wonder he gets frustrated.

USA are not even a great team.

Unlucky Rooney. Now if the giraffe was on.... Might have been a different story.
    Yep.

Giraffe needed as a target man for when England want to cross the ball from out wide.

Especially the way the balls are being thrown in tonight. Lennon is doing as good as Walcott was in the warm up games, his delivery has been poor, either too high, or cut too far back.

Hardly an excuse for Grean, but this may explain the poor free kicks:
Brazil goalkeeper Júlio César said the ball felt horrible, comparing it to a "supermarket" ball that favored strikers and worked against goalkeepers.[7] Giampaolo Pazzini from Italy labelled it "a disaster".[8] Chile's goalkeeper, Claudio Bravo, complained about the ball, saying "it was made to make life difficult for the goalkeepers."[9] Spanish goalkeeper Iker Casillas also branded the ball "appalling".[10] Italian keeper Gigi Buffon said, "it is very sad that a competition so important as the world championship will be played with such a horrible ball."[11] Brazilian striker Luís Fabiano called the ball "supernatural", as it unpredictably changed direction when travelling through the air, adding that none of the players of the Brazilian squad reacted in favor of the ball. In the same interview, Brazilian Júlio Baptista said the ball worked against strikers and goalkeepers, as it moved in different and unintended directions after a kick.[12] Joe Hart of England, after training with the ball for a number of days, said the "balls have been doing anything but staying in my gloves."[13]. He did, however, describe the ball as "good fun" to use, even though it is hard work for goalkeepers to cope with.[14] It was suggested the ball behaved "completely different" at altitude by England coach Fabio Capello.[15] Denmark coach Morten Olsen after their 1-0 friendly defeat at the hands of Australia: "We played with an impossible ball and we need to get used to it."[16] Brazilian striker Robinho stated, "for sure the guy who designed this ball never played football. But there is nothing we can do, we have to play with it."[17] English goalkeeper David James said that "the ball is dreadful. It's horrible, but it's horrible for everyone."[18] Marcus Hahnemann replied to the ballmaker Adidas saying that "Technology is not everything; scientists came up with the atom bomb, doesn't mean we should have invented it."

Well let me tell you something you should have learned in your 28 years.

When the striker is clean through on goal and is six yards out......you have done well to stop him scoring.

Post or not, he did well. Doesn't make up for the earlier blunder, but it was a good save and deserves to be called as such.

I must be watching a different game. ITV commentators just said Heskey had produced as good a performance as any England player. Aside from providing an assist for the goal he's been bloody useless. Missed great chances.
