Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Lampard, as per usual, sucking ass in an England shirt.

    You're so American.:)
    Well....yeah.

I vaguely remember Crouch, back when he was just starting out. Getting into his prime?

I pity anyone who has to watch Sky Sports News tomorrow...

I must be watching a different game. ITV commentators just said Heskey had produced as good a performance as any England player. Aside from providing an assist for the goal he's been bloody useless. Missed great chances.

Heskey was Englands best player when he was on the pitch, although that's not a great compliment.

Anyone else regretting that Capello has decided not to go ahead with his player rating scheme. Would love to have seen what he would have given after this game

Personally I don't think that announcing the squad just 2 hours before the game is a good thing for them either as a mental factor.

England should be at least two ahead.

    Shocking stuff tbh.

    Rooney is about to snap.

Are you taking the piss? Hes had a fantastic game, he had 1 bad miss, hes had a far better preformance overall than Rooney for example

Nahh, actually quite mature for him there, was caught, got up quick but did not go off on one.

Well, think about it, they have scored two goals, even if one was in the wrong end. :)

First game of a tournament that they could realistically win. I'd be nervous too but they should play the game and not the occasion.... cliche.

England will be better when Barry is fit.

Come on, get real. OK, I wouldn't say they are useless, but if they improved a bit, they could be. :)

A draw would not be a bad result in terms of qualifying from the group, cos England will. But if they don't win the group, they may end up meeting Germany in the second round!

Not really happy with USA this half, been on the defensive for the last half hour it seems like :/

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,148 ✭✭✭✭Raskolnikov

USA the better team in this half.

Are you taking the piss? Fantastic game my arse. He shot a pathetic effort straight at Howard when clear on goal, he headed a great chance over and he's given away as many balls as he's made for his fellow players. Muck as usual.

Looks like England are happy to settle for a draw, what a joke!

Ah they are, player for player they have more class in just about every position. They just aren't getting the ball down and playing it around. Scared of it it seems.

Slightly off topic but what business those Beckham have being on the bench let alone being in south africa.
    Playing upto the media again.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,435 ✭✭✭✭redout

If England cannot beat the USA then they cannot realistically believe they will win this tournament.

So James Corden's Football thingie afterward on ITV should be fun.

Will have to delay hitting town but I've a feeling to could be well worth it.

Barry is a big loss to the team. He commands the midfield so well.

USA the better team in this half.

 you have to be joking. England not great and incredibly bad finishing but they have been way better than USA. With slightly more composed finishing and without the keepers howler they'd be 3 or 4 nil up.

USA beat Spain not too long ago, so your point is moot.
