Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

So what was the goal like.

And there's me thinking I was great watching it in HD for free.

    Long live RTE analogue :pac:

The worst RTE have done thus far in the tournament is lose commentary but that's not always neccessarily a bad thing.

Some idiot presumably hit the wrong button in the control room. Wonder is he fired yet?? Considering a lot of the UK would have been watching on HD

If I remember correctly it happened during the EURO 2008 final or semi-final but that might have been ITV4

Great publicity for Freesat HD and Freeview HD.

Sky probably laughing their holes off.

The RTE panel were making fun of Heskey for only scoring 4 goals...less than the Nigerian goalkeeper...but his job is to do what he just did earlier, set them up so they can be knocked in for a goal. He's doing a job.

They did say he wasn't there to score goals though he was there to create for others

Someone at ITV maybe high up will lose their job for that.

This wasn't a club match, it was England's first goal in the World Cup, with half the country who upgraded to HD for the World Cup following a massive promo campaign tuning in.

It is a cock up of immense proportions.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,099 ✭✭✭Dean820

    What a chance for USA...

+1 and to make matters worse the 'proper' HD feed is gone till presumably half time anyway when they'll cut back

ITV commentator: "In 1990 we could only manage a draw with Ireland, fancy that Andy."

Yeah. Amazing what you can achieve when you don't thrash the fúcking stadium.

I can live with SD. I just don't like seeing an ad for Hyundai when a goal is scored :)

Adrian Chiles is probably sorry he joined the ITV world cup coverage. He's going to have to make a grovelling apology at half time.
