    Up to 29 so far now - Keep those expressions of interest coming. We're starting to get there! (Slowly!;):D)
    I'd say we need to hit about 40 - 50 to make it a viable day-out, but should get there.

    Who's taking charge and organising it? Good question indeed - Any volunteers? Need about 3 - 4 people to start with to chase up the initial details and then more as things progress - On the day itself, a rake of volunteers will be needed!

    What range will be used? Not sure yet - It looks like Midlands may be the best option, bearing in mind that we're hoping to cater for smallbore, fullbore, shotties, and pistols. There's only two ranges around which can cater for all those - Midlands and an Riocht. So let's see what the numbers and the events are like and then make a proposal to some ranges. Obviously, no range has been asked about this and as yet a venue hasn't been agreed. But we will need to get onto that shortly.

    What if you are not a member of a range? That will depend very much on the particular requirements of whichever range agrees to host the event. It is critical that we keep this as open as possible and that all posters can access the event (obviously).

    Whichever range does in the end agree to host this event, my guessing would be that two very pertinent and non-negotiable conditions will be applied by the host range:

    1. Anyone shooting must have a valid firearms licence for the firearm they wish to shoot with, and
    2. Anyone shooting must have valid insurance.

    I can't see these two being negotiable - so any lads / ladies wishing to shoot would have to make sure they have these items boxed off. That doesn't exclude lads / ladies from coming along to shoot the breeze and to meet up!

    That said, all the shooters on here will obviously have a FAC and insurance already - That's a given. (Except the one or two I know who are in a slightly different but no less legit situation with club-guns etc.)

    If, as its looking likely, that Midlands may be the best venue to approach for catering for this event, could I ask that any of the lads/ladies on the above "possibles" list who are members of MNSCI identify themselves - by PM if you feel more comfortable - as this may have some bearing on how we get on in discussing this idea for a day-out with the range? (Some of you I can identify myself!:D;))Thanks.

    Nice to see we're getting there regarding numbers. :D

    When we get to 50+ do ye think maybe four or five of us should meet up or speak on the phone to get into the finer details such as venue and format of the day? I think that would be easier rather than posting back and forth, as I have no access to a computer for 3/4 days most weeks.

    Any ideas how we'll pick the date (and try to keep everyone happy?):confused:
