Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

that could have been a pen, definite contact. who's the commentators?

    On RTE?

    Gabriel Egan and Damien Richardson.

Egan does radio commentary for Ireland games mostly. Richardson is a journeyman LoI Manager.

Not by Greece they have been gash - hoof ball all the way.

Korea been much better and are actually playing proper football
Hope they win 3 or 4 nil.

Very impressed my S. Korea so far. Greece have been terrible.

Greece look utterly clueless! SK are are harrying them, pressurising them into losing the possession and then just swarming all over them.

In fact, SK look most dangerous it seems when the Greeks try to attack cos they inevitably lose poccession and then get caught on the counter attack.

SK well worth their lead. At the moment, i can only see Greece scoring from a set piece and they've even been poor at them so far.

Greece are lucky to be only 1-0 down.

Yup - would worry for South Korea that until/unless they get a second Greece might nick a goal.

Dodgy from the Korean keeper there.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,350 ✭✭✭Het-Field

I will probably get slated for this.

This game reminds me of the Ireland v Cameroon game in 2002. One team had the guts of the first half, should have been more then one goal up, and suffered for it in the second half.

The Greeks could nick a goal.

    1-0 half time

Good first half for the Koreans but they should be further ahead all things considered. Greece have been as bad as you'd expect, it's like watching Scotland with less flair and imagination...

Pretty rank stuff by Greece, that back line needs a bit of Soto. However South Korea
will be kicking themselves they are only one up.

    Very impressed by South Korea.

If SK beat Nigeria they have a very good chance of reaching the quarters.

I dunno, I think they'll take second. And they'll meet winners of A, Mexico I think. I think France might be too strong for S Korea too.

Going on yesterday, I think Mex - SK would be a cracking match, with SK winning.

After Frances performance last night I feel they can definitely overcome them. I didn't see the Mexico game.

France were rubbish, but as soon as they ignore Domenech, they'll be better. Mexico were very, very wasteful last night and fully expect them to learn from that.

Great bombing forward, nothing to do at the back.

One thing though, when he gets into the final third and makes a pass, he doesn't seem to know what to do next. He's never been in the right place to receive a lay off, he just keeps running in the same direction, or else stops completely.

good goal but could have been avoided, greece giving the ball away too cheaply, samaras one of the biggest culprits

South Korea won about 4 or 5 balls off the Greeks in midfield they had no right to win in this half alone before the goal, so it's not as if it was a fluke - it was down to good work by the Koreans as well to keep making those tackles.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,492 ✭✭✭MementoMori

    Should have done better there

    Lovely ball in.

Come on South Korea - goal difference could be key and these Greeks are there for the taking.
