Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi , i am wondering do you know the best places to collect rock or find minerals? My daughter is interested in going hunting for the above.

    Any suggestions would be much appreciated

    Courtown is supposed to be pretty good for fossils, but if you want to know rock types throughout the country this might help.

    You might get more answers from the palaeontology form. (go to ...Science> palaeonotolgy). The Mods are lovely.

    GSI Site walks and field trips.

    There are so many great places to find interesting rocks and minerals, but they are made all the more fascinating with a good explanation of the processes that formed them.

    The Copper Coast Geopark could be a good day out...

    Hey do you see this image with the picture of the deer at the top? That's from the museum building in Trinity College, it's a male Giant Irish Deer. Here's a picture I took of it one day before I started back at the thesis.
