Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Yes, there is a new question.

Where would you suggest getting your photos printed - for the Peoples Photography?

Mine will be small enough and probably only for the PP. I used to go to Pixels but they are gone now.

    Any suggestions?

Pixels is re-opening (new management and company) this week with boardsie katemaloe at the helm so you could try there.

I had to go to Conns today for 6x4's I'd ran out of...what an absolute rip-off!!!
I use Harvey Norman for 6x4's (10c each when you print up 500) and for my 12x18's.
And I use fuji lab in Unicare Pharmacies for 5x7's (usually 10e for 50 prints) and for 12x8's (2.50e when ordering over 4 prints).

That's it then. The above is the final list and I won't be making any additions to it so if you missed out you will have to contact Peoples Photography directly for a spot if they have any left over.

For anybody that's interested we are thinking of having a meal in Soho after we finish on the Saturday. Probably aiming for a time of 6.30-7pm. If you're interested in this reply below or send me a PM.

And you call all start to panic about images now :D

Thanks so much for organising the group of us for PP2010. Looking forward to the weekend.

Time to get working on a few prints.

    Really appreciate your work here.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,337 ✭✭✭positivenote

where are people generally getting their prints done? i wouldn't mind getting about 10 or so 12 x 16" done... I know steve does lovely work but i was thinking of cutting the costs right down and mounting them on mount board instead of frames this year?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 708 ✭✭✭dave66

Many thanks for all the work on this Darren, much appreciated.

Looking forward to the day and dreading it in equal measure ;)

I plan getting my prints done with stcstc http://www.360-dpi.com/

I got my prints for Peoples Photography back from Steve in 360-dpi today. They turned out great, and it's really nice to see them printed. There's something about holding a print in your hand that makes it more like a photograph, and less like an image.

    Thanks Steve!

I'm afraid I'm going to have to pull out :(
Something has come up which probably should take priority.

With that, there is a free space available for first PM.

Hi, I dunno how (but suspect it's because I'm the queen of ditzy) I'm confused about what date this is on? I got it into my head it was this weekend but the People's Photography site says 28-29th August? Does this mean I have many more weeks to stress?!?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,057 ✭✭✭kjt

Yup it is indeed on the 28-29th August :)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 77 ✭✭kittykrazy

Thank you kjt! My bf says I should be proclaiming my plonkerness at this point but I'm just going to leave it at "phew" and "d'oh". Now I'm off to take more photos!

Erm, that's sorta the problem. We're sharing a spot and he was working to my misinformed deadline until he thought to check the site this morning. Guess I have to make him a REALLY nice dinner to make up for the stress. Ah well!

How's everyone getting on with printing and everything?

    Haha your poor bf!

Emm I'm getting on really well..... I still have to shoot what I want to display, still have to print what I want to show, Mount what I have yet to get printed and possibly frame what I have yet to get mounted what I have yet to print or shoot....but keeping positive :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,063 ✭✭✭GristlyEnd

My prints are all done. Just need to collect the mounting and I'm done. This marks a big change for me compared to previous years.

I'm collecting my prints today, nervous as feck about seeing them  then it's "just" mounting them.

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 10,581 Mod ✭✭✭✭humberklog

Can anyone that has previously expressed an interest in ordering stuff from me (mounts, frames) please PM me with quantities as soon as one can as I'd have to have the order in by end of week.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 708 ✭✭✭dave66

I just collected my prints from Steve in 360-dpi.com and I must say I'm really pleased not only with the print quality (which is excellent and I wasn't really worried about) but with the content, which I was worrying about. So now for the mounting

Anyhow, I'd have no problem with recommending 360-dpi.com for anyone looking for quality printing (he mounts and frames to BTW), He got my zipped file yesterday and I got my prints today.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 311 ✭✭decsramble

I've spent so much time sorting through PP applications I havent any prints done yet this year. Oh the irony :-)

I'll be sending some off to be printed during my holidays, so fingers crossed some of them are up to scratch.
