Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Computer only booting successfully on third attempt

Basically since yesterday I have been encountering this problem: The first two times I power on my computer the hard disk drive flashes then my computer just turns off. The third time i do this it boots up normally. I have an up-to-date virus scanner and it's not identifying any problems so I think it might have something to do with my os. Any one had this problem? I haven't updated my computer in anyway since the last few days.

Vista
Dell
processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 @2.66GHZ
Nvidia 8600GT

try f8,safe mode,directory services restore mode.i think you have malware.

Thanks ricman for your reply. I performed the systems restore for about four days ago but still having the same problem. I went to the anti-malware website you recommended and performed a free scan- it says I have 3 problems in my windows registry but will only fix them if I buy the product. i'm just nervous that my broadband provider O2 has reported this website as unsafe. I'm guessing that this is the only way to get rid of this malware, that normal virus scaneers can't do this ? thanks

all those programs are free, ignore the website i posted earlier,
use free edition super antispyware, a full scan can take 3 hours approx.

heres a good online scanner,free.
http://housecall.trendmicro.com/uk/ if your vista os is 32bit , use the 32 bit version.

do not use that website,the one i posted in my first post.
i deleted the link in my previous post.

follow the instructions in the virus, malware removal link, boards.ie

all those programs are free.use the free versions, if theres 2 versions on the website.
