Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I think this is the whitest Dutch team I've ever seen.

Sneijder had the right idea there trying to hit a daisy cutter.

I reckon if the wall hadn't stopped that it still would have been top corner bound by the time it reached the goal.

another scrappy game.denmark pressuring dutch well but i wish they had some composure and ambition on the ball.

Nice ball in there by Kuyt.

Wonder what would happen the Danish gameplan if the Dutch got a goal.

    Nice break from Denmark there.

Yeah, I applaud Denmark for their gameplan of stifling the Dutch, if it earns them a point then fair play, and on the first half hour or so, it seems to be working. they've even managed to create a chance or two on the break, they could easily nick a goal. Just like SA vs Mexico.
    On Bendtner you Bendtner you

all these free-kicks at goal from ludicrous distances obviously aint working.

I know footballers aint usually the brightest but this is becoming a joke since the tournament began.

The referees are a lot more strict. Anyone who tries to moan at them, instantly are told to piss off.

    Hope it keeps up :)

    Ambition?

They are clearly a lesser team than Holland, why on god's green earth should they leave themselves possibly exposed.

they are doing it right here, contain Holland, try to hit them by surprise.

As for your other post, they look extremely composed in defence, and patient in attack.

The Dutch really lack width without Robben playing.Van Der Wiel seems to be the only one providing any. There's never any outlet on the left for them.

Thought the Dutch were in there

Is the best striker in the world single handedly carrying Denmark to victory as expected?

    Danish tackling = Good

    Dutch tackling = Bad

The game has been kind of...meh.

Denmark going about their game perfectly, some top class defending. Value gone on 0-0 now unfortunately.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,190 ✭✭✭✭IvySlayer

Agger defends well against Van Persie, Kuyt puts Bendter off on that last corner

    Liverpool 2 - 0 Arsenal. :pac:

Was excited before this match but it has been quite disappointing. I was hoping for at least two goals in this half

The miss was just so sterotypically Bendtner. Wasnt the greated comment.

Would be well pleased if I was a Danish supporter with that performance.
Nullified the Dutch initially and started to get a chance or two as things developed.

Spot on. The Danish are playing to their own strengths which with this team is their defensive capabilities and the organisation of the team as a whole.

It is up to the Dutch to play to their own strengths and try to overcome the Danish gameplan.

Boring first half bar a couple of chances. The Dutch looked great coming into the world cup.

Just bring on Elia so he can rape them and get me fantasy points.

    Yes I said rape.

Well at least he won't rap them to death like John Barnes.

Dutch now 5/6 from 1/2 before the match with Paddy Power.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,254 ✭✭✭shano_88

Elia for Van der Vaart to provide some width. Going to be very hard to go through the middle as the Danish defend very well.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,614 ✭✭✭The Sparrow

Not the most exciting game, but I've found it quite engaging. Danes are doing very well and the Dutch seem lethargic.

Really shows what a big player Robben is for them.

Im enjoying this, good tactical game. Better than any of the 3 games yesterday.

disappointing from the Dutch. They do miss Robben's running, they've no one really looking to get behind the Denmark lines as a result, they are all coming deep and it's just congesting things in front of the Denmark box. De Jong is a lucky boy to be still on the field though, some awful tackles.

The Danes are going to have to venture out a bit more now and look for a goal. I can see both teams grabbing a goal or two now.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,492 ✭✭✭MementoMori

He was obv afraid of Kuyt behind him.

Be interesting to see the response now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,052 ✭✭✭✭~Rebel~

    Oooooo depressing..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,570 ✭✭✭✭Frisbee

van Persie's touch let him down big time there. Was expecting him to bury that.
