Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Who's doing the commentary on RTE?

One guy sounds like Marty Whelan.

Rommedahl's been all right. He finally added something to his game.

    Thanks!

Commentary doesn't really bother me to be honest. So long as the picture is good, it's fine by me. RTE's pic is better than ITV on our TV anyway.

I would normally agree but the HD channel looks really nice

    2-0 Kuyt.

Your man very unlucky to hit the post.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,052 ✭✭✭✭~Rebel~

Kjaer was awful in following up there, Kuyt owned him when it really should have been Kjaers. Well played by Elia, looked lively since coming on.

That was a nice goal line clearance right there!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,190 ✭✭✭✭IvySlayer

    Off the line! Great defending.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,570 ✭✭✭✭Frisbee

Great recovery there to clear off the line.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,614 ✭✭✭The Sparrow

Unlucky for Elia but nice following up from Kuyt. Pretty terrible defending from Kjaer.

Nice goal line clearance there but what was Sorenson at?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 54,659 ✭✭✭✭Headshot

that Kjaer looks a bit dodgy

I'd think the complete opposite. He's made one mistake, granted it's cost them, but the rest of the game he has been very assured and made some fantastic tackles.

Kjaer is the next big thing I thought

    We'll accept €25 million, Mr. Mancini :o.

That would be Christian Eriksen, apparently he's on the pitch somewhere

Enjoyed what I saw of that. Holland looks a decent side. That number 17 on the left wing was excellent. Didn't catch his name as I had no volume at work - I am guessing he is Elia??

Yep, 18 year old who plays for Ajax, the UTV commentator said the Danish media have hailed him as the next Michael Laudrup.

No, that was Affelay. Awesome player.

Man City should go after him.

    Defo wasn't Elia.

Everyone is the next big thing if under 20 and at the world cup.

Does anyone know what that building is behind the lads on ITV?. Not the stadium, it's to the right and painted in South African colours.

That is not a building. It is like a big canopy going over the road.

    18?

    He's 23.

Holland showed glimpses of potential. They didn't give their best effort today. I have reservations about Van der Vaart and Sneijder combined. Could it be seen as the Lampard/Gerrard conundrum of Holland?

Nevertheless, I think they have plenty more to give in this competition.

Shortened match report. I was asleep for a lot of it. :ohttp://worldcupdailyblog.com/2010/06/14/own-goal-gets-holland-off-the-mark/

I don't think VDV will get much of a look-in when Robben's back anyway.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,630 ✭✭✭steelcityblues

Typical Dutch World Cup opener! They will look a better team in the next two group games.

True that. Robben's return can't come quick enough.

Hilarious, the whole crowd knew Pepe was faking. Is he the most shameful player in world football? It's people like him that give the sport a bad name.
