Long story short we have a small back garden and al big one , the big one has been let go wild and it's been pointed out to me that my mother would like it cleared back to a lawn , now we cant get any thing bigger that an mower into it , I am wondering if there is an eayser way to clear it other than taking a strimmer to it ???

Get a strimmer and cut it back, gather the strimmings, gather any rubbish and stones, and then the mower will do the rest... If it was once a lawn it should still be level enough to mow without any work..

Once you mow it a few times you will see if it needs reseeding...
