Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Predicting where sun will rise?

This may be a strange question, so a bit of background. Ballymoney beach (near Gorey) in Wexford holds special memories for our family. This week my Parents are celebrating their 50th Wedding anniversary and I thought it might be a little different if I was to get a sunrise over the beach. I believe that sunrise will be around 4am this week.

Just wondering if anyone knows of a site where I can enter co-ordinates of the beach etc. to see where the sun will rise, I will be driving to the beach from Bray (about 45 minutes) so will have limited set up time, so any info I can gather in advance would be great.

    Any ideas?

Sunrise is about 4:56am this week -

If you have a compass then I'd get up prior to Saturday and take a compass reading to see roughly where the sun will rise and make a note of it.

Dave this is what I was about to recommend.:)

It's a really useful and uses google maps, so for city shooting you can almost tell what street the sun will set on.:D

Sounds good. I'm limited as to the days I can do this, as I have to collect people from the airport on Wednesday. I am tempted to do it on Friday, which is the day of the Anniversary, but my try hedge my bets by shooting tomorrow and then try Friday as well, just to widen my chances of getting decent weather, bloody June weather, can't rely on it. Guess I'll need to leave Bray around 3.30am to be on the safe side

So I have done my checking with the Photographer's Ephemeris and think I have a plan, so it's off to Wexford, well before the crack of dawn tomorrow. Fingers crossed I get this right otherwise the parents are getting a potted plant for their Golden Anniversary ;)
