Can a bank threaten to close a personal joint account because one of the parties signed a guarantee on a business account overdraft that is in dispute?

A bank has a right to close any account that they are unhappy with, joint or otherwise.

The bank can choose you they do business with remember. If a party has a reneged on a debt then of course the bank are entitled to close any account they are a part of.
