Ivory Coast vs Portugal

I think this will be dependent very much on whether Drogba will play. FIFA are due to announce in the morning whether they will allow Drogba to play with a cast. I'm guessing they will allow him to play; but i'm still wondering how well he'll perform given that he's not 100%.

Drogba aside, i wouldn't be too familiar with the Ivory Coast, but i would be wary of how well they would cope if Portugal show up.

I think its a given that Ronaldo is gonna be taking some long shots which have every chance of decieving the keeper, and Liedson up front is, perhaps, the striker that Portugal finally need.

Chances are i'll be going with a Portugal win, maybe over 2.5 goals. I'm really hoping for a good game tomorrow too

I think Ivory Coast will win. They have a strong team, even without dogbreath they still have Kalou up front who I think could have a very good tournament

Anyone else think of backing C. Ronaldo at 16/5 as anytime goalscorer? Might do that as double with Brazil handicap win(-3.0). Thoughts?

Ronaldo has not scored for Portugal in nearly two years.

    Any particular reason?

    Avoiding this like the plague.

Do not trust this Portugal side(they drew 1-1 with Cape Verde!) whatsoever AND Ivory Coast without Drogba probably as well. Meh.

Kalou scoring and a draw look like the sensible bets if anything.

Fck me thats an amazing stat for such a good player. For me Portugal have been on a decline since Euro 2008 a lot of their players from the so called Golden Generation are gone and have been replaced by plods. They were fairly sh1te in the qualifiers and if the Ivory Coast weren't so average themselves I'd be opposing Portugal. Its easy to look at team sheets and see players like Kalou/Drogba/Ronaldo and think they're good teams but a lot of their team mates are rubbish in comparison. Look at Eto had to play with yesterday!

This one is a draw for me and under 1.5 goals.

Have 70 on Ivory Coast altogether, looking much sharper in midfield.

This is the 7th game to be scoreless at HT. Unbelievable statistic. That's over 50% of the games. Wonder how long this trend will continue. Surely the second round of fixtures in the groups should be more open games where teams kind of know where the stand a little bit more.

Anyways this is the worst world cup that i have witnessed. A majority of the games have just been plain boring. Don't know whether it's the altitude, the new ball or them vuvuzelas. Or all of them. Players just don't seem to be able to run at speed with the ball. They keep knocking it too far. And the shooting has been ridiculous too. This tournament better start picking up.

Just backed the Ivory Coast @ 4/1 in running.

Ivory coast are looking the most lively and likely to score in this half anyways. Pity Drogba picked up that injury because with him on the field i think they may have managed to convert one of their chances.

cant bring myself to bet on this but id rather have 7/2 ivory than 23/10 portugal for sure

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,235 ✭✭✭Dave147

Drogba has just come on and my bets on him have come live.

Yea I put a small amount on IC at 4/1. Hoping Drogs can do the business now.

One of the better 0-0 I've seen. Still been a pretty crappy WC viewing wise.

If the CIV players were to actually lift their heads while approaching the box they may have managed a goal. Don't know why they constantly wanted to run into the corner when they had unmarked players supporting them in the middle. Too much greed and not enough early passing.
