I write a personal blog about my work. I thought that after putting in the effort of writing all this relevant keyword rich content, I might as well put the blog posts on the company blog as well.

Will the search engines notice that the content is an exact copy and punish me for it? Or would it be advantageous as I can catch visitors arriving at either site?

Here are the URL's to show you what I am talking about, but feel free to edit them out if they are in breach of rules:
http://www.ampsoundsystems.com/site/news - New company site (which is still under construction)
http://eoin.o-grady.com/blog - Personal blog writing about my work in above company

I want to keep the personal blog separate for a couple of reasons, but I also don't want to waste the chance of filling the company site with pages of relevant keywords!

    Any thoughts or opinions?

    Short answer:
    Yes, you will be punished

    Long answer:
It's not a penalty (debatable), but Google will favour the more authoritive website in their search results.

You could use the canonical tag to let Google know which one you feel should be the more authoritive article, but I wouldn't rely on this method.

Thanks for the reply. I think I will just keep everything on the company site then, and redirect from the old blog.

    Thanks
