Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Kinda want to start using my strobes a bit more, and only have 1 flashgun so either I need to find some way to power the strobes on location, or be limited to 1 flash...

Anyone know of any power-pack solutions? (cheaper the better... I am a student!) Need to plug in 2 strobes into essentially, wall socket connections. Any help would be great :)

You have 2 strobes and 1 flash gun?

What kind of strobes do you have?

I use a vagabond II to power my 3 alienbee strobes but its output is only 125v and the strobes take 125v. I use a regular extension lead with my strobes.

I mention this because there is a diy battery pack job you can do and I presume you could just change it to 220v.

This is the Explorer XT. I'll be getting the SE version for digital strobes. I'll be getting one of these, hopefully soon, for my BXRi 500W strobes.

    Actually, I spotted this...and it'd be perfect, if it wasn't 300+ euro... >.<

Ok how about we collaborate on an Irish DIY kit for this.

My understanding from the diy turbine thread is that a deep-cycle lead-acid battery is needed because a standard vehicle version will suffer buckled plates from complete discharges. I'll scope online for this now and report back.

Edit: Cancel that. Prices for batteries, inverters, and charges here cause rage as much as photo gear.
They must be jacking off when they're making up those rip-off prices.

No! That's the only way you can afford gear in Ireland...
