Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    0-0 HT was 3/1.

    Brazil backers nervous?

This Brazil squad is one of the weakest in recent history.

    No recognised superstar striker either.

Didnt rate them as real contenders before the tournament.

Yawn, another boring WC game. Between the lack of goals and that god awful humming racket I think I might just switch off till the quarter finals tbh

LOI division 1 is better that this shoite we have to put up with

Try having to put up with LOI division 1! :(

I don't think it's a bad game at all, the Koreans workrate is impressive watching and I hope they keep it like this.

Capitalist Brazil 0 - 1 Democratic People's Republic of Korea

    North-Korea-Army-Babes.jpg

Glorious endevour by the heroic delegates of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea football team saw them overcome sustained assault by the overfed capialist side representing former Portugese colony of Brazil. Jong Kyok selfness in attack has upheld the glorious athletic values of Democratic People's Republic of Korea. The study defense built upon the strength of glorious leader Kim Jong-il proved more than the equal of decadent western money.

    sounds like a plan!

we might even have a dozen goals scored by then

Korea 19/1 for the win. Anyone biting?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,556 ✭✭✭the_monkey

I wonder in North Korea would they show other games ? like the other group games ?

or would there be a ban on them ?

And those fans there from N Korea ? how can they be there ? "Privelaged" people ?

or do they allow people leave now ?

is it just a blockade on people entering N Korea ?

    Yup and the draw

It won't generally be available live to the masses. However illegal radio and satellite tv hookups are common enough that word would spread fast.

I'm enjoying this game actually. North Korea have been excellent. I still can't see them scoring without some luck because they are not committing players forward so 0-0 is obviously the plan which is susprising as I wasn't sure if they would be executed if they got beaten during this tournament or not. Must be just a thrashing for a draw.

I agree this tournament had been dissappointing so far but I can't join the moaners on this one. Very interesting game. Still expect Brazil to nick it but who knows.

The coach of N Korea does look stressed, he could be sentenced to years of hard labour if they fail to qualify.

I think they are only showing highlights of the North Korea games there.
They're not showing any other games apart from those highlights as far as I know.

My sweet Jesus but is Elano greedy! And he can't cross a ball unless there is a Korean to hit it off first.

Stop moaning about the World Cup. If you don't like it turn it off and stop talking about it.

    This is a great game.

Brazil aren't banging in 24 goals "samba style" so people are moaning.

I hope the NZ keeper was watching that punch out by the Korean keeper.

agreed. I'm not sure what people were expecting from the first round of games. A lot of teams do start off pretty cagey and improve as it goes on.

As for tonight, hardly riveting first half, but Nth Korea are good value for the win. Brazil have stepped it up though. Not looking good.

EDIT : Brazil just scored a cracker. Bit suspect on the GK positioning there in fairness, but Maicon fairly smacked it.

    Good man, Maicon. :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,435 ✭✭✭✭redout

    No way he meant that.

Pure fluke but great goal all the same.

    Sensational Goal.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,261 ✭✭✭kenon

Fairly crap from the keeper. He was pre-empting the cross.

Yeah I would regard that as poor positioning from the keeper rather than a great goal.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,133 ✭✭✭Stevecw

Great finish, bad positioning by keeper but what a way to make him pay.

    Quality goal.

No fcukin way I am believing he meant that the way it came off.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 602 ✭✭✭soma

Watching the replays I just dont think Maicon did that intentionally.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 16,658 ✭✭✭✭Peyton Manning

It was never going to be 0-0 - this is the 23rd consecutive group match Brazil have scored in.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,521 ✭✭✭✭noodler

That is simply awful goalkeeping for me - a howler.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,411 ✭✭✭shotamoose

Bet Brazil park the bus now.

No way Maicon meant that, poor positioning by the goalkeeper too.

Pity, as I've been impressed by North Korea so far.

RTE Commentators got completely carried away and I'd bet the house that the studio will put it into perspective at FT.
