Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I want to get fit again after a couple of years of no real activity. I got a basic road bike of my brother last week and so far this week i've gone on 2 decent cycles. a 30km one and a 40 km one averaging under 20kmph(guesstimate). Am i starting off on too much or should i continue on with 3 or 4 of these kind of cycles per week. I've lost over a stone and a half through jogging and walking in the last 2 months but i'm still 2.5 to 3 stone overweight and when the weather's good there's nothing better than a good cycle, but i'm a pure novice and i don't want to injure myself or do anything silly.

3 - 4 of these per week is fine, you'll find they get easier as you lose weight and legs get stronger, or maybe you'll just get faster and they wont get easier.

You'll know your own limits, if its a heavy exertion then make sure and have rest days too.

I did 150km last week over 4 days. I can't tell if it's getting easier yet but i'll know in a few weeks
