Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Checking location (altitude) of games before betting

Just wondering if anyone thinks it worth checking the location of games or more importantly the elevation that the games are played at before placing bets on number of goals scored and handicapped bets.

With alot of players complaining about feeling lethargic when playing at high altitude it would stand to reason that these games may be low scoring.

Maybe for each game thread we could also include the location and altitude.

Just an idea, what do ye think?

Excellent idea. Lots of people don't take this into account when betting.

Altitude for the venues can be found here.

Look at the teams that should be used to the altitude too, South Africa, Mexico, USA (after all their altitude training) and others.

Very good point OP and thanks for the link, Vereance.

The pace of the games has been very slow indeed.

Interesting to note that Spain and Switzerland are playing in Durban which says it has an altitude of 0m (is this right?).

This is a match I'd have given a 70-75% chance of over 2.5 goals in pre tournament but couldn't bring myself to back it at evens after the tournament so far. Interesting to see how it pans out - not even so much the goals but the pace of the game and chances created.
