These people have been run out of so many places including Respond housing, houses in other towns outside Waterford city as well as in the city as well.

It is typically how the public sector deal with problems - move it around, so that someone else will deal with it.

These 2 families are a prime example of when given something for nothing they do not appreciate it. Both houses were lovely houses, done out really nice and they had the rent paid for them plus all the benefits going and were topped up by the SVP plus all the money from their illicit going ons.

They're well known to the gardai, social services, animal welfare etc.

And so how does the private sector deal with it
Funny how you even try blame scumbags on the public sector.

Its an interesting point though, what do you do with troublemakers in public housing? Should they be moved to another estate to continue creating problems? Or should they be left to fend for themselves and give the accommodation to someone else who needs it? Maybe 2 strikes and you're out?

I say put all the trouble makers on the Blasket Islands. Maybe helicopter drop them some fish heads once a month.

The Public sector including the Gardaí, Local Authority and Social Services, have pussy footed around these people for years, pandering to their every need and not the needs of the public that they inflict!!

You only have to look at reports into the Social Services about youths that have died on their watch due to being moved from one department to the next, just to get rid of them (off their desk). Read some of the previous posts where the Gardaí have told people who have complained to leave well enough alone just in case these people cause them more harm. If you feel that the public sector are doing everything in their power to protect the public to which they serve then you are obviously mistaken.

It doesn't look like they crossed the river. I think the landlord of the crowd that WERE next door is in cohoots with them and didn't want to say.

The other lot have to be out tomorrow but I don't think they're going too far.

Would be good to let people know which area these people move to so they can take action straight away if they move in there and carry on the same way.

The council should be hung out to dry in the media for moving known trouble makers into what are considered quiet communities.

There also needs to be a proper process in place when the council do move these people in that the community have some sort of council officer that they can contact straight away about any issues and these families are given a couple of warnings and if they do not improve they need to be moved to somewhere that they can not interact with anyone!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,682 ✭✭✭deisemum

The council told me that even though they house them the buck stops with the landlord and in the case of the house opposite it was the landlord that personally placed these people.

As soon as I know where they've moved to I'll post it plus I'll pass on any background info that I have on them.

Typical hand washing by the council!

If they are paying to house these people then it is them that are responsible because if they dont pay the rent then those people do NOT live there!

Something is very rotten in Ireland if councils have the attitude that it is not their problem!

What needs to happen is they can move these people in next door to the council members and then lets see how that goes!

I agree. The TD's tenants are meant to be out by midnight tonight but they're still there. Then again they only seem to move under the cover of darkness. Another night wasted watching out for our property.

Alleluia the scumbags are gone. Landlord arrived with a locksmith at midnight are the locks are being changed at the moment. They have to contact the landlord when they want to collect their suite.

Hopefully we'll have some peace again and we can get on with our lives without having to keep a look out all the time.

counted 30 cops in the grounds of the courthouse manning the entry/exit points, i'd shadow a guess there was as many cops inside the courthouse. very costly on the irishtax payer and the outcome of the courtcase would be very interesting!!

Ye their is a big court case on atm from an incident last halloween 09 where a traveller was slashed up and nearly died from it at a bomb fire , obviously that caused retaliation and i suppose the travellers involved are still trying to get at each other so the garda presence is probably needed as these guys would not be afraid to go slash someone up in middle of court house if it meant they got back at the accused familys.... people who think the feud is quiet and over are wrong im afraid its still going on but our local radio is not bothered in it anymore , only the other day down at billberry two cop cars were at the travellers entrance blocking it with lights flashing , i only passed by and seen it but i assume they were not calling in for tea and biscuits and a chat ;)

Ye all last week it was on too i suppose they were and still are expecting trouble anyone hear more  as our local radio WLR does not seem to keep us informed on anything local lately.....

I heard the courtcase that was on going was struck out yesterday as the traveller familys had too many different storys and it was obvious the truth could not be told , i also heard one of the familys said in court they will sort it out themselves  .

When they left the court a fight broke out and from what i was told from someone who was their , alot of weapons were found on people , it sums up a post earlier that said travellers were stopped entering court with weapons early last week .

Anyway all this means is , a man gets Slashed up and nearly murdered and the accused gets off scot free again and they are all left off to deal with the feud in their own way  get ready for more trouble in coming weeks and months , if they were willing to bring weapons and fight outside a courthouse imagine what will happen when they finally do settle it their own way ..........

Case stopped with the main reason being intimidation of a female witness according to Munster. Some waste of money we dont have anymore

I thought this community wanted to be treated fairly (like everyone else)???? Well - they need to start acting like everyone else!!

I drove past the courthouse last week when the case was being heard. The gardai outside the courthouse were watching a large group of men standing on the footpath and road opposite the building. I found it hard to drive through them and felt pretty frightened, they were a scary looking lot. But what concerned me more was the fact that it was school closing time and the kids from De La Salle and Waterpark were walking down that way too. I think when cases like this are being heard they should consider cordoning off the road in that area for public safety.

I've just stumbled on this thread and am highly embarrassed.:( And don't feel all that safe on commenting. But,these 'people' are by right my relatives. They're a cult of intimidation. I don't associate with them in any form. Too bad you can't choose your family, aye?
