I have a 6 month old pug puppy. I would like to get him playing with other puppies or dogs.

Does anyone know of any kind of dog socialisation or other activities/areas, where he could mix with other dogs/puppies? preferably around Dublin 5,7,9,11 (north Dublin). I'd like to let him off the lead and have a good run around.

Otherwise is there anyone who is in a similar position who would like a play mate for their puppy?

    Thanks

Have you tried Dog training ireland? They have a website might be worth going a couple of times and that way you could meet up with other dog owners outside of it as well. They have doggy day care and training classes etc.

You can let them off the lead in Griffith Park on Botanic Ave before 11:00 (the wardens in the van don't seem to care thou if they're off after this) there's always loads of dogs of different ages and breeds on a Saturday and Sunday morning. Not sure if our lump would be any use - he's an 11 month old golden retriever pup so would probably flatten your guy :D but there are other smaller breeds there too.

Up in Albert College Park on Ballymun road in the evenings from about 7.30pm (depending on the day/weather etc) loads of people meet towards the back right side of the park (nice and enclosed) and let their dogs off for a good play session. There could be up to 20 dogs there at a time. Great for socialisation etc. But don't forget to clean up after your dog when you are there....as the meetings have nearly been stopped before due to a few who didnt.

I am in a simular situation myself, have a 5 month Pomeranian, He was great when my wife and I brought him to the bark in the park when it was on in St.Annes, meeting all the other dogs how ever I did notuce he liked some dogs and disliked others. I am in Dublin 5 and so many people here have huge dogs and its too risky to introduce them but a pug is a good size. I work a lot of Tuesday nights up to 8 so I cant make the class near the airport.

Thanks for this suziwalsh. Went up there last night and our 6 month old cocker and he had a ball. Great to see all the dogs off together and chat with the other owners. Well worth a trip OP!
