This is painful but very well played by the Swiss. They've are dealt with every cross comfortably so far and there is no apparant threat when Spain get it wide or win a corner.

It is the end of the first round matches and it's been the poorest opening to the WC i have ever seen anyways. And it's not just the lack of goals. It has been the overall quality of the games. They have been very poor and lackluster. The second round of games kick off tonight and if it doesn't pick up it will head towards one of the poorest World Cups. So far it's the lowest scoring with the most amount of HT 0-0's and full time draws.

    I have two bets

    - €150 Spain @ 4/1
    - €50 Brazil / Spain final @ 10/1

Time will tell, I'm not planning on doing any more bets on it to be honest, if I lose on the soccer it effects my horse racing betting, lose the head a bit :o

Only one team has scored more than 2 goals and you think England will score 4? And keep a clean sheet????

Unders looks safe ;) Still getting really good prices despite the obvious trend. That or any underdog on the handicap.

Villa was sh*te today Torres nowhere near fit:mad:.. Spain need Chile to beat Switzerland then ease off for the last game or they are going out:eek:.. What a crazy World Cup it has been so far..

Incredibly unlikely now and something to note if anybody is having an outright bet.

With this result, it is odds on that Spain finish second in their group and thus probably play Brazil in the the second round. That means on paper, the 2 best teams in the competition play each other and one gets knocked out in the second round!

Could be in trouble, winners in both their groups play runners up in the others. Of course if they do avoid it they're in different sections until the final.

havent had a look yet thats just an idea.. ill take a look at the unders..

ah sure stats are there to be broken.. if we can put 3 past algeria im sure england on their day will g balistic.. but it is the world cup differnt story alltoghther and thats a fair point.. teams are being very negative so far

Spain need to win their own two games convincingly to ensure they get 6 points and a good GD, thus ensuring 2nd place.

spain can suck my c0Ck, usless fekers wouldnt have scored if they played till the cows came home.

Yeah, I fancied them both to win their groups.

Managed to turn a profit by backing no more goals at 11/5 circa 72nd minute. No good for my nerves though.

Back on the horse: Uruguay to win by exactly one goal: 11/4.

Spain could still top the group but will need 2 good wins and would need the Swiss not to get a result against Chile. Assuming all beat the minnows it would leave 3 teams on 6 pts  someone home with 2 wins is tough.

Well that's my WC over. Was playing with bookies money and have Holland outright so I'm just going to leave it be at that.

Spain were odds on to beat the Swiss ;)
Brazil won't fancy playing Spain in the next round.

Brazil won't fancy playing Spain in the next round.

Or vice versa, it was always the tougher side of the draw for the knock out as well with potential Dutch or Italian tie in the last 8.

I suppose it's hard to score when you're playing against 9 defenders.

they wont win by many against Chile if Chile need too get anything out of the game thus they need Chile too win against Switzerland and rest there first 11 against them..

Am sorry for anyone who lost money on this game, i just about broke even, but am delighted for Switerland, fair play, reminded me of a team in green back in 1990 & 1994 :D

    Suck it! ;)

Spain and Brazil could both end up second in their groups.
If portugal beat Korea in the next round and brazil put a few past the ivory coast, brazil might purposely lose in the last game against portugal to get 2nd place and avoid spain in the next round.
One great thing about all these draws and upsets is that come the 3rd set of matches very few of the groups will be decided and every game should be competitive.

could someone quickly explain to me the handicap bets +1.0, -1.0

    cheers :D

-1, they start a goal down,so they need to win by 2 goals.
+1, they start a goal up so if it's 1-1 you still win, if it's 2-1 it's a draw and you lose your bet

    I'm up about 60 euro..

lost twenty quid on mexico the first match
won money betting on japan to beat cameroon
lost a fiver on something else
lost twenty quid on chile and spain double
won money on G. Fernandes getting the first goal vs. spain
lost money betting on other goalscorers in that match

I have a fiver on david villa wc top socrer
I have a treble bet for tomorrow which very unlikely only three quid on it

The fact that I have to walk to my bookies saved me lsoing more money cos I was very tempted to put money on the Slovaks winning when they played NZ.
