Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I'm actually surprised that England have been so bad, shocking performances from all their 'top' players. Not sure I'd blame the coach or Heskey as everyone seems to be doing. It's their star names who have been really poor and disinterested. They are very reliant on Rooney and he has been shockingly bad. With Lampard hardly able to pass the ball and Gerrard not much better they haven't a hope.

Damn straight, Rooney, Gerrard, Lampard, Lennon, barry, terry, cole, johnson all were worse then shíte tonight...

I have to say Algeria have manage to learn from their match with Ireland. It is a good thing England didn't.
But hat said England are poor and getting frustrated as the Match progress. They need some soul searching or should I say find their brains.

Worst game of the World Cup so far. England did not create one decent chance in the second half.

Unless England play great next week (looking really doubtfull tbh) they are gone. What an embarrisment.

The way England played USA and Algeria in this World Cup. They deserve to be knocked out of the World Cup.

Capello sells himself as a strong man, well a strong man is willing to change his approach.

Like last night, I know its petty, but fúck it, this is just downright hilarious! I wanted this to go two ways for england: win the thing out, or fail miserably and crash out in the groups. Guess I know which is closer!

Irrelevant, they'll get mauled by whoever they meet in the next round. Dreadful, dreadful performance. A lot of reputations will never recover from this WC.

Christ that was awful. Bordering on shambolic!

there can be no excuses for this performance. Really really bad and I'd agree, its not Heskeys fault. They have pretty much all been ****. Rooney, Gerrard, Lampard, Barry. The "big" players, the world beaters, they just looked disinterested and lacking in any sort of quality.

It might happen, but they are making hard work of it.. if they are this **** in the groups, what happens once they meet the big teams?

No defence, no strikers that can score, a midfield that doesn't work well togeher.. Can someone tell capello it's Lampard or gerrard - not both.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 46,467 ✭✭✭✭Mitch Connor

    Not one good perfprmance.

Worst performance I have seen from rooney in years.

None of the midfielders were any cop either.

Capello needs to do some serious management. Change of formation for me.

    ...............James

    Johnson.Dawson.terry.Cole
    ..........Barry.carrick
    Gerrard....lampard....Cole
    ................rooney

That is how I would go.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,003 ✭✭✭✭The Muppet

That was dire, Rooney Gerrard Lampard Johnson were abysmal the rest were just woeful.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,942 ✭✭✭missingtime

Didi Hamann has thrown the cat amongst the pigeons here by suggesting that the FA allow a two week break at christmas. Giles and Brady were stumped.

I think this ends the talk of Rooney being world class, in the same league as pele, messi etc.

All the crap about Rooney setting the tournament alight have resulted in 2 of the dullest performances I've ever seen.

so bad. they have crumbled. they all look like they are playing with headaches. never seen less passion from an england side

Giles is right, Rooney in particular just seemed to give up. Shocking stuff all round.
