Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I don't know what is more embarrassing, the Englad performance or the ITV World Cup coverage.

Formations my bum, one solution, Cappello needed to deliver a size 12 up each and every one of the England players hole. Seriously, the talent that they have they should be absolutely walking this game. Blaming the Ball, the team selection, the keeper, all excuses, yout just not working hard enough lads!

    No halftime changes?

    shambles.

I have to admit that I've lost a lot of respect for Capello. Granted the England job is something of a poisoned chalice, but persisting with Heskey at this level is nothing short of unforgiveable.

    LOL

After that first half he has a point!

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,537 ✭✭✭joseph brand

Why the HELL would you play Heskey?

And this England Lampard is a shadow of the Chelsea Lampard.

Maybe the English players want more money to play for their country?

Knives out already for Capello on ITV

England are so far beyond bad in midfield.

I think it is assumed that as soon as you put Keegan on a panel he'll say something bizzare at some stage. He always does it.

Think thats bad, hansen and Linekar were saying that if slovenia won against USA, it would be better for england as they would rest players against them.
I mean for fúck sake, its slovenia they were talking about

Agreed, just take out the 'this'. Lampard has rarely ever been good for England, under any manager. How hes kept his place for the years is a mystery.

Capello has been sucked into the England vortex and is making the same mistakes the previous managers have made. The Lampard/Gerrard conundrum, the goalkeeper problem, the Heskey/Rooney partnership. England have good footballers, they should play football, not Aussie rules kick and catch.

For those of us stuck with RTÉ can somebody give a synopsis of what they're saying on ITV?

threw it over there for a few mins, pretty much the same as the lads there except not as visceral. they are in shock at how bad the lads are playing, stating they are very nervous and frightened.

  • Registered Users Posts: 908 ✭✭✭The Cannibal

Should just play the second eleven in the next campaign. A squad of completely uncapped players. Couldn't possibly be worse than this performance.

No suprise, they are just cheerleaders. Townsend, Southgate and Chiles are an utter embarrassment.

And Clive "Cliche" Tyldsey is a joke.

I should have switched over to ITV for THIS match. They're not known for being critical of their own players. Did they have any criticism of the England team at all?

Thought Viera had a point when he said that the English resemble the French last night.

Big build up for Heskey's move and then he blasts it out.

    Hamilton: ...frustration.

    :D

For all of you lambasting Heskey, he may be ****e but the likes of Crouch and Defoe won't win them a game or anything.

I would have brought Bent/Walcott for starters but really there strikers are average. Crouch's record is good but he is nothing special.

To quote Dunphy they could stick a wooden post up there and it'd be just as good.

I'd be far more confident of Crouch or Defoe winning the game if it fell at their feet than Heskey

Chelsea tend to play a formation which suits Lamps. As United would play a formation that benefits Rooney.

    Gerrard, world class
Lampard, one of the best in the pl
    Terry, solid
    Rooney world class
A Cole, one of the best if not the best lb

Others are all pretty decent at club level. Far better than other teams TBH, they dont play like a team, nowhere else to look besides the Manager.

I think there may be a lot of player power affecting selection

Heskey wins the ball, holds it up :D:D:D

    Barry, gives it away...:o

Doesn't appear to be confined to the strikers.

    Hospital pass from Gerrard, WTF

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,853 ✭✭✭ragg

Why is gerrard screaming at everyone else, it was his missplaced pass

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,747 ✭✭✭fisgon

    Gerard wasted that

  • Registered Users Posts: 908 ✭✭✭The Cannibal

Jesus Gerrard. Even if that ball got through, no one was running on to it. It was behind Rooney.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 23,316 ✭✭✭✭amacachi

Who exactly was Gerard giving out to there?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,137 ✭✭✭happyoutscan

What's Gerrard moaning about, that was a sh*te attempt at a pass.

I've always thought this team could do with giving Aghbonlahor a proper chance, the pace of him and Lennon would do some damage

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,525 ✭✭✭✭Mushy

Jesus how was Gerard looking like blaming somebody else for that?

    This is becoming comical.
