Only a data sim card by the looks of things.

No use for an iPhone 4.

    :(

Yeah no sign of a mention of phone use. Least they're on the way.

There's no practical reason why they can't issue you a micro sim and assign your account details to it in exactly the same way they do for the mini sim. They may have a policy of not doing so, maybe to force you onto a new contract even if you didn't get the subsidy from them, but that would be by their choice, not any technical reason.

Guys, this is specifically for the iPad and whatever new USB modems they get. They wouldn't issue a micro SIM for phone calls without selling you a phone.

What I find interesting is this: https://www.vodafone.ie/df/shop/package.jsp?offerSelected=devices

If that link doesn't work, it refers to an ADDITIONAL DATA PLUS add-on for the following, and I quote:

"With this add on, you can download files from peer to peer (file-sharing network) websites and make internet phone calls through your mobile broadband connection."

    Its an ADDITIONAL €20!!

If thats saying what I think its saying..... well, its bu11sh1t.
As I understand it, it is referring to the 10GB data package as essentially one for direct http access only, with the data plus add on reserved for other internet requests like SIP, Skype and any other internet calls (read: service requests) outside of http calls etc.

Tell me I'm reading this wrong....

same as Meteor, they are providing micro Sims in Data form only until sometime in july when they will release phone and data sims.

No you are reading that correctly. My gf's house mate got one of the new modems for skype and the call quality was crap. calls could be made but there is a definite restriction on it. she asked vf about it and they confirmed the traffic shaping measures and recommended the extra data option

    rant

Well then, that is A COMPLETE F**KING RIP OFF! And here was I thinking Vodafone were being progressive in their pricing. Give someone 10GB and throttle the connection at will and limit the data to x, y, & z? No thank you, you saps.
You may as well give someone 200GB or 1TB per month. It makes no difference. Its sneaky advertising,, which, of course is nothing new, but WHEN THE F**K WILL CUSTOMERS WAKE UP AND SMELL THE BULLSH1T.

Bottom line, read the bottom line and don't complain like a sap, when you realise you've been screwed.
