Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

For anyone looking for trade in updates:

GAME in Liffey Valley just quoted me:

    60GB Pro - €90
Wireless Adapter (Original White Model) - €28
    Wireless Controller - €13

Versus Gamestop offering €65 for the machine and €8 per controller and only €14 for the adapter.

I've mine pre-ordered in HMV but does anyone know what xtra-vision are doing?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,541 ✭✭✭WarZoneBrother

Is that with a 120gb Elite or 250gb super elite?

My 20GB 360 Pro is at the moment broken (3 red lights), think I'll get anything for trade in?
Not too fussed if I don't, but it would be nice.

I could sell it in bits:
    1. Two white Wireless controller's
    2. Wired Headset (never used)
    3. 20Gb HDD

Also, a bit OT, but how much do you think I would get for a 1st Gen PSP and 4 games?

Theres a suprising lack of email address' for the big shops. Im an hour away from galway so cant go into the different shops to just ask them what sort of trade in deals they have.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,541 ✭✭✭WarZoneBrother

To above poster maybe you should ring them and ask instead of emailing as you wont get a response as quick?... Make sure you say Elite or Super Elite and confirm its 120gb or 250gb if you are trading in one of those...

I never tried, but someone on boards said that they tried and game didn't take it.

does the xbox have to be in great condition? I spilled candlewax on mine ages ago, and got most of it off but there's a (good) few flakes iwasn't able toget offand didn't want to try too hard for fear of scratching the case

Try a hairdryer and some kitchen paper, the hairdryer will let you melt the wax, and then you should be able to blot it up with the kitchen paper.

Is it just me, or is everyone better off selling their consoles on Adverts where you can actually get a decent amount for them?

Worth a shot but their are a large amount of jokers that post on adverts. Usually goes like the following

    1) Xbox for sale with the following..... for sale for 150e

    2) First jokers response "I offer 30e as its been used"

    3) Then you get "its only worth 50e at most"

    4) Once you get a decent offer and you accept it you get the response

    5) "Hey what about my offer of 50e! I posted first"
But I've been posting on Boards for years, so I'm well used to ignoring people. :D

    They are a little pricey.

    :) Nice one mate.
I have pre ordered one in HMV. It will cost €100 with my old Elite.
Sounds ok to me, better than the €150 I would have to pay in Game or €125 in Gamestop or the hassle of silly offers in Adverts as described by Lightning.

Did you have to leave pay a deposit, and if so, how much? Did they mention if the €225 price they are advertising is confirmed yet?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,528 ✭✭✭Lucious Sweet

No deposit. And €225 price was confirmed.

Are HMV doing memory transfers by any chance?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,450 ✭✭✭Batesy

I had to pay €10 deposit in HMV Dundrum. They said it's €224.99 on release.

I’m saving my saves and my profile on my 8gb flash drive; I’m ****ting myself something will go wrong

    I’m trading in hmv.

GAME Dawson were the most unhelpful when it came to info about upgrading, avoid them

Anyone know how you format your hard disk? Is there an option in the console menu itself, or do you have to do it externally?

Forgot to update this, I rang Game on Monday and I was quoted the €90. Rang again Wednesday and got the same quote. Went up to trade and I was told that it's a promo price that isn't active yet but should be during launch week.Either way they're still offering €75 for a 60GB Pro, €10 better than Gamestop and a damn site handier than travelling to a trade-in friendly HMV for anyone in the Kildare area.
