I'd love to see the expression of Hamman's face back in the studio listening to Jimmy. Probably doesn't know what to make of him.

Pressure starting to tell on Nigeria already. Can see a few more goals in this one.

And Socratis Papastathopoulos is substituted for Samaras to the relief and joy of commentators worldwide..

Commentary on RTE is pretty good, tbh

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,342 ✭✭✭✭That_Guy

    Samaras ain't playing Jimmy.

EDIT: Completely missed that substitution. Roll on Jimmy.

It feels like just a matter of time before Greece scores

No way will Nigeria be able to hold onto this lead if they keep giving the ball away in dangerous areas

Retire Jimmy. Between you and the vuvezela yokes I might just throw the telly out the window.

    It was coming

Sick deflection. Great first goal ever in a world cup!

Equaliser. Fcuk. There goes my "Greece won't score any goals in the world cup" bet.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,178 ✭✭✭_Bella_

hate to say it but they deserved it

Worst thing Greece could do is go 2-1 up..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 899 ✭✭✭Drummerboy2

Nigeria were doing so well until that idiot committed the crazy act

    Is it opposite day today?

1-1 would still be good for Nigeria. It'd make everything rest on the South Korea game (Can't see Greece beating Argentina). They need to re-organize though. They can't keep playing the way they are. Bring on some more pace and give a counter attack threat to make Greece think twice about advancing too much.

Good auld Vincent Enyeama is getting the world wide recognition his Football Manager displays have deserved!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,178 ✭✭✭_Bella_

His pronnunciation of vuvuzela changes every time

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,342 ✭✭✭✭That_Guy

"Vuvuzela's must be leading by a half a million goals to nil"

    :)

Jesus, Jimmy really does like to ramble on a bit. What age is he now? Anyone remember that sports quiz show with him and george hamilton where they'd give him some mad topic like the east german olympic teams in the 1930's and he'd just harp on about it for a minute? weird.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 253 ✭✭gingelion

    How did he miss that?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,342 ✭✭✭✭That_Guy

Oh dear. Straight at the goalkeeper and an almost brilliant counter attack from Nigeria.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,640 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

    Shocked neither side scored there.

    75. The man, despite his ramblings is extremely knowledgable about sport. Good guy and his ramblings always make me smile. Living legend.

This nigerian chap is a knob.

    Talk about milking the sending-off.

He must have taken a good 90seconds to walk off the pitch!

The ref even telling him to get on with it and he still strolls.

    Amazing.

Whats the ref got to do about it? Send him off? :D

Wonderful save more than a miss

Yoink. We're clearly the biggest club in England so he'll definitely be coming to us. We were that close to getting Mourinho in too but Real just got him ahead of us.

Definitely. You can throw any sports topic at him at all and he will tell you more about it than the entire internet ever could.

Regardless of horns, empty stadiums or flight of the ball, when two teams need to win a game and go for it, it's one of the more entertaining games

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,605 ✭✭✭Fizman

I have Nigeria (+1) in a treble with Arg and France but I have a bad feeling Greece will win this. And that man had big muscles.

That Nigerian keeper is one of the players of the tournament so far.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,342 ✭✭✭✭That_Guy

Has Jimmy pronounced vuvuzela differently every time. They're apparently "haunting" the stadium now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 253 ✭✭gingelion

    Ooh, close there

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 253 ✭✭gingelion

    jesus, wat a save

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,342 ✭✭✭✭That_Guy

    Terrible terrible defending.

Shots on goal: Greece 28, Nigeria 8

    Wow

Wont be much use to him when he finds himself down the hospital. Nigeria keeper is having a good tournament, another great save.

    Kiss of death.
