Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Clicking pedals

    Hello,

Several months ago, I asked everyone about a ticking noise coming from my crank.

I am now almost convinced the ticking noise is coming from the pedals. I have Shimano R540 Pedals.

Does anyone have any idea of solving this issue? Could this be a sign something could be broke (About 3500km covered with the pedals and bike).

    Thanks

This makes sense, because the noise is much louder and prevalent after a wash at the weekend.

Thank you for your reply. Would chain lube work or do I need a specific type of grease?

I had the same problem with my 105 pedals, drove me nuts until I sorted it.
I used ordinary multi-purpose grease. that was over a month ago, no clicking since.:)

I know how you feel as the sound now is a complete joke. Thanks again.

sounds like the crank is just loose.. or the pedals.. have you tightened them up on and on the bottom bracket?

or what kind of frame are you using?

But if can strip the pedals then maybe try the finish line teflon grease or if you can't then just put the cross country wet lube into the pedal and see how that goes..
