Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

That was never a yellow. Awful decision, the lad ran into him, fell over and then went over. He should be banned and the yellow lifted on Kaka.

Haha Brazil, they have rolling around all match over nothing. Ridiculous sending off though

This game has been a farce. Both sides have let the WC down with their cheating.
Typical behaviour from Barcelona players, Keita is a total ****.

Ban should be coming his way or FIFA have lost the plot.

Ivory Coast are a fecking disgrace, cant believe I bought their top, 11 Drogbas!!!

Some horrible tackles to go along with their playacting!!!

Brazil have been at it too.

If only North Korea could be the only qualifiers from this group.

The amount of diving and moaning today has been depressing. Brazil as big a culprit as anyone.

Disgusting from Keita though. Surely they should take action against him and recind Kakas second yellow.

I'm sick to the teeth of all the play acting in the game.

To be fair both team's are playacting and cheating. Fabiano handled the ball twice for his second goal and he spent the rest of the night rolling around on the ground

Barcelona's Keita is from Mali...Kader Keita plays for Galatasary.

    From his Wikipedia already

'' He is also a cheating scumbag, having feigned injury following a Kaka "elbow" in the "face" during a 3-1 defeat against Brazil.''

    :pac:

True, I blame the ref but it was shocking nonetheless

the Kaka sending off will be rescinded, there is no way FIFA who want Brazil to reach the finals, will have them without one of their star players for a few games! Not when things are about to get serious!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,146 ✭✭✭youcrazyjesus!

Good point by the guy who said Ivory Coast messed up by getting Brazil's best player sent off for a game they need to win in order for the Ivory Coast to survive.

The yellow will probably be rescinded. Kaka means a lot to sponsors.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,391 ✭✭✭Captain-America

Ivory Coast were far worse than Brazil. But the referee is the worst of the lot.

Would be a one game ban but 2 yellows cannot be rescinded I have learned.

If he didnt see it he should never have booked him. The fact that he booked him means that he didnt see it..

    Two bad refereeing decisions

Should never have been a goal and should never have been a red card

nonchalance isn't a booking offence. If anything it's exactly they way you want people to react, he basically just smiled and walked off.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,003 ✭✭✭bijapos

FIFA should get a panel of 3 refs, retired ones such as Collina to use video evidence to get people like that Ivorian banned for two or three matches.

Its the only way it will stop the rot.

Worst thing is kids seem to think its normal, very common to see it now at U-12 and upwards matches.

No. The referee's giving Kaka the yellow card based on hear say is disgraceful.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,326 ✭✭✭✭ctrl-alt-delete

That Ref shouldn't be in charge of anymore games at this World Cup,

He was terrible. Missing the handballs - then asking Fabiano if he handled it on the walk back to the centre circle.
He can't say he missed the handballs considering he seen the Keita v Kaka incident without looking at it.

I don't know who has informed him of what went on there, terrible alltogether.

    Fabiano's an absolute bitch.

Never watched a huge amount of Sevilla but I've seen a bit of him without ever noticing that side.

    Horrible horrible behaviour throughout.

Despite the joke of a sending off, this is strangely reminiscent of 2002 when Brazil, on their way to glory, eased past the group stages, while the other favourites struggled!

+1 Glad to see he realised that spending 5 mins on the pitch moaning at the ref does not help. Got the card for better or worse and walked straight off, fair play to him.

Nice to see that, sick of the fcuking theatrics that accompany a lot of red cards.

  • Registered Users Posts: 908 ✭✭✭The Cannibal

I can't believe Dunphy sometimes. He definitely plays favourites. If Ronaldo was in the same situation as Kaka tonight you'd hear a big rant on how this is a reflection on Ronaldo's character and how it is a reason why he is not the best in the world. But because it is one of his favourites Kaka, it is suddenly FIFA and referees ruining the game. Kaka was getting involved in little bits of argy bargy long before his first yellow.

  • Moderators, Arts Moderators Posts: 35,527 Mod ✭✭✭✭pickarooney

Keita's reaction was obvious ridiculous but if the ref genuinely thought he'd been given an elbow in the face he could not have given a simple yellow card. Kaká saw him coming and gave him a little dig in the chest - the card was maybe harsh but, like the Italy penalty earlier, the right decision if the laws are applied strictly, irrespective of the opponent's overreaction.

I find it hard to understand how he didn't card Keita though.

Well it's in FIFA's hands now. If they want to make a stand against the play acting they have their opportunity but I suspect that noting will be done and their cosy big boys club will say one thing and do nothing.

Kaka did absolutely nothing wrong for the 2nd yellow. Nothing.

As for the other disgraceful tackles, after Cahill's red and the ridiculous German game I think players are taking advantage of the fact FIFA have talked to the referees.

These incidents happen at nearly every world cup. Look at Rivaldo in 2002 or Ronaldo in 2006 or the Argies losing the plot in 2006. Without such incidents we would have nothing to talk about!
