Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Story of the World Cup really. Sure a lot of Greek fans couldn't get into their opening game for some reason or another.

Slovakia were decent enough the last day too.

I think Motty was commentating on some match -can't remember which was flicking

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,435 ✭✭✭✭redout

The Slovaks were pure muck against the men from middle earth.

Everytime the defence was under pressure they looked highly suspect.

They were also quite poor aerially - money on Paraguay but this tournament you wouldnt know!

Lovely goal and well deserved too. Paraguay have been by far the better side so far.

Brilliant goal. If only people would use the outside of the boot more with this ball, it would result in alot of those goals.

He was on MOTD one night as an analyst, speaking of the new experience of not working as a commentator at a World Cup.

His English is good, he just speaks quickly.

I thought the game would open up with Slovakia needing a goal but it's been poor, they don't look capable of opening Paraguay up.

some crap teams at this world cup,
paraguay are decent, a great outside bet to win it
i think every world cup should have a place for a '' rest of the world side' made up of players who didnt qualify with their countries, and managed by someone like wenger or fergie,

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,178 ✭✭✭_Bella_

What a load of crap. He is Argentinian you know?

His English is very good seeing as it's his second language.

Having an accent, that is still clearly understandable does not make your English bad.

    Wonder how your Spanish is?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,535 ✭✭✭Raekwon

Slovakia look absolute muck, they will be trounced by the Italians on Thursday and rightfully sent packing.

Ireland should have no trouble home or away against them IMO, sure in the Euro qualifiers we beat them at home and they scored in the dying seconds away to make it 2-2 and that was in the very forgetful Staunton reign.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,391 ✭✭✭Captain-America

Yeah, Ardiles is very hard to understand. No mater how good he is he really shouldn't be there if he's that hard to understand.
