Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,
I was hoping to get some advice concerning which computer course to do. Im currently in full time employment and would like to gain a qualification to enter into the I.T industry. Is the comptia a+ cert enough to gain you a job? Or would I be better going for a higher certificate in computers. Any advice would be appreciated.

    Mick

The higher the degree the better. However, work experience can be just as important as the degree. Some employers won't look at your CV without work experience, some without a degree, others without both.

Also, with the current economy situation, even having a cert/degree and work experience will not guarantee you a job. There are people out there with years of experience and excellent qualifications and they can't get anything.

Personally, I think you should go for the cert and slowly build up as high as you can. Hopefully by the time you finish, the job market will be in better condition and you'll land yourself a nice job :)

Yes I figured the higher the qualification the better. The course is 3 years long (part time), so I do hope things will have picked up jobwise by then! Im lucky to be in a job at the momment (well a dead end job but at least something). Thanks for the reply
