Reversing Camera

Hi,
I'm looking to get a reverse camera for a luton van. I had a cheapo one on the old one but the camera wasn't the best and the monitor packed in after a bit of use. I have a guy who will install it for me, so just looking to see if anyone has any experience with a good package with a camera with a wide lense (120-170 degrees), night vision and a monitor, maybe 5 inches.

So just wondering if anyone has any experience or recommendations

Hi there,

Our motorhome has a Waeco unit installed. It is an old model, but I can't complain about it. I did a quick Google for Waeco and can see what you mean about many options - check out this site though - I'd be happy to buy some of the units they sell, and they're not too dear by the looks of them (Click here)


I think I'd prefer a camera up high, looking down. Better for reversing into tight spaces, rather than bumper mounted cameras. It can also help keep an eye on bicycles on a rack in case they come loose.

I can't see it mentioned, but are the cameras on the link you provided Waeco, or is that where you bought your original and they are the newer models they stock?

haven't got the hooks in yet, going to get a frame built on each side first I think and then I can do the hooks after

and nope, the guy who'd install the electrical stuff is a different guy (from boards actually )

has nothing but great reviews. 8/8 5 star ratings on Amazon, and 5 star ratings on B&H photo too. In fact, I've not seen a bad review of it yet. Seems to be reputable and good quality and exactly what I'm after so I think I'll go for it

I fit them every month , with colour monitors , sound , and fish eye lens . The higher thecamera goes , the better . Just don't use a wireless one!

I took delivery of it on Monday anyway, seems like a decent quality kit from what I can tell. The cables, connections etc seem a lot higher grade than the old one I had.
