Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I don't know where people think Portugal are going to get 2 goals from tbh. Portugal lacked any kind of goal threat apart from a Ronaldo effort against the Ivory Coast and Ronaldo hasn't scored for the national side in about two years. Portugal will either get a flukey goal or a piece of magic from Ronaldo but they won't score more than one goal against a tough North Korean side. They just don't have good enough players. Simple as.

    Prediction: North Korea 1 - 1 Portugal

If I'd seen that post before now I'd probably have been thanking it. :pac:

This is turning into a rout, pity to see it but the Korean defence is being torn apart!

Looks like North Korea to concede the most goals could be coming good.:)

I know one unhappy little dictator

Agreed, think Richardson has backed Ronaldo as top scorer too!

Ooohhh, this is turning out to be a right rout!

Ronaldo will have to be miffed if he doesn't get on the score sheet in the next 30 mins.

Wonder should they bring Ronaldo off? If not, granted they will have a better chance of beating Brazil BUT he could get a yellow in the Brazil game and miss the last 26 match which potentially could be v Spain.... Should he take a yellow here and miss what looks like being a dead rubber in the last group game?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 31,950 ✭✭✭✭Mars Bar

Oh, that pass was worthy of a goal...

Kim Jong will be very ill after this result.

Added more teams have they? :pac:

Anyway, yes I agree with you. Also should be taken off so he won't be knackered for Brazil.

Im watching the game in North Korea here lads, small Irish bar in Pyongyang,

What are you all talking about?

    Still 0-0 here,

Can anyone tell me how North Korea are allowed have "Dream Inc" i presume a sponsor on their jersey, i thought Fifa didn't allow that.

Edit: Korea unlucky to have that ruled out for offside

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,178 ✭✭✭Bob the Seducer

Judging by the different way DPR Korea approached this game compared to the Brazil game, they thought they could win this one.
Probably should have stuck with the more defensive tactics tbh.

    Ahhhh! Ronaldo!

    Unlucky there. Crossbar.

Korea probably got too confident after Brazil.

    Nice shot from Ronaldo.

    ya bollocks!

But if he's taken off now rested for Brazil then he may still run the risk of picking up a yellow in that game and therefore missing the last SIXTEEN round! Surely the thing to do would be pick up a yellow now, miss the Brazil game and get a rest for him too? Although I suppose I should consider that Brazil may put a couple past Portugal and Ivory Coast could beat Korea by a couple also. Damn I really am overthinking here

Sooo? Are yellows carried over to the last 16?

If they beat Brazil, and Spain win their group they could be playing Chile or Switzerland.

Yeah its the quarters were they are wiped I think.

Big if but yeah i guess its possible. Also, Spain may yet not win their group or even get through :pac:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,566 ✭✭✭✭murpho999

Jaysis....7-0.....those poor Korean lads should defect now rather than go home to their leader!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 31,950 ✭✭✭✭Mars Bar

    Haha! That was cla...OOHHH another!!!

Is this the biggest victory in the World Cup history?

Anyway, I loved Ronaldo's control even if it wasn't intentional.

Poor old Ivory Coast are as good as out really now barring Portugal losing to Brazil and the Ivory Coast giving North Korea a walloping of their own!

Think Hungary beat El Salvador 10-1 in 1982

Surely thats Drogba and co out now. Goal difference too much to make up.

If it's not 8-0 I'll be disappointed with Portugal's performance.

    Germany 8-0 Saudi Arabia 2002

Sure Germany beat the Saudis 8-0 in 2002. I'm fairly sure Hungary scored 10 against El Salvador in 82.

Na there was a 9-0 for yugoslavia over Haiti back in the 70's.
This makes it almost impossible for the Ivory Coast to qualify as they would need a 9 goal turnaround in the last round

Best second half in the World Cup so far. Couldn't take my eyes off it.
