Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Text to speech

    There is a text-to-speech option in settings. I downloaded the speech synthesis app from the market. But not sure how to get it working. Anyone know what the crack is with text-to-speech?

    I know t's used by the navigation application. Not sure if there's a standalone interface for it. Pronunciation is dreadful, and the British voice is most definitely American.

    To get best use out of it you need to change the keyboard as well.

    On my (changed)keyboard there is a little microphone symbol I tap to use text-to-speech.

    Yes I'm taking about the text to speech I think your referring to the speech to text. Don't think the desire is able to do speech to text. But there is an option to install text to speech but can't seem to get it working.

    If anyone has any experience with using the text to speech id appreciate it.

    Its up to apps to use it. A good way to try it out is to install Google Translate. It will text-to-speech its results.

    Handcent SMS too, just hold your finger on a message (in a thread) and scroll down to speak.
