ok this is totally wrecking my head...

x/o.25-x = 2.... how in the name of god do you solve for x... i know im missing something simple here!?

cross multiply

x/0.25-x = 2/1

x = 2(0.25-x)
x = 0.5 -2x
-x = 0.5
x = -0.5

but that doesn't work does it... try multiply across the top by (0.25-x)

is it x over a quarter rather than x over (.25 - x)?

x = 1/2 + x/4
x - x/4 = 1/2
3x/4 = 1/2
3x = 2
x = 2/3

You can use latex on boards using [noparse][latex][/latex][/noparse] tags which is pretty cool!
