Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,
I am looking for a recommendation for a hybrid bike. I am 6ft 1, so would like a big light and strong frame. I had a claudbutler hybrid but one thing that really annoyed me about it was that you could adjust the front handle bars with an allen key. I found myself having to oil this and re - tighten it every two weeks.

    Any suggestions appreciated?

    Thanks.

Most bikes can be adjusted or even taken apart with a set of allen keys, it's kind of the point!

As for recommendations, it depends on your budget. Hybrids are a tricky breed of bike, some move more towards road bikes, others towards mountain bikes.

If you want a light, fast bike, take a look at the likes of the Giant Rapid or Lapierre Shaper. Alternatively there are the equivalent bikes from Trek, Felt, etc.

If you are on a tight budget, the Carrera Subway from Halfords is a very good bike for the money. They also stock a more sporty and expensive Boardman hybrid which looks pretty nifty.
